Do you have anyone in your family over 60? Seriously, go work a retail job and you will see how many picky customers there are out there.

MAYBE get the factory rep involved OR use their GM computer to contact GM engineering and see if there is a pattern of problems like this popping up OR let GM contact the manufacturer of the interval wiper module to inquire about any problems OR let THEM know that there is a problem with their part. Telling a customer you cannot duplicate the problem is understandable if it's intermittent, but that does NOT solve the customer's problem. REAL customer service goes ONE step farther to try and resolve the problem and not just fluff it off. That's the difference between a good service department and a lousy one! There are enough lousy ones out there. We certainly do not need anymore!

That what I said, make a reasonable effort. There are no TSB's out there for the wipers that I am aware of so the dealer did everything that they could do.

What do you want the service dept to do if there are no TSB's and the problem cannot be located? Change the customer's kids diapers for them?

ALL the more reason to get to the bottom of the problem before it becomes this big!

If the problem cannot be diagnosed, then what?

Then, maybe all the dealers need to get together and let GM know that there is a problem with their reimbursement rates for warranty work.

They have, trust me. GM cannot affort to pay more as they are not financially healthy. Why do you think that they cut stock dividends.

I agree, but the dealer does have to make that extra effort to look into the matter for the customer.
And I advocated the dealer going the extra mile too. Problem is, some people, including you it seems, expect the extra mile and then if that doesnt fix it you want a 26 mile marathon.

Sorry if that offend you but it's true. Most dealers make the bulk of their service work nowadays on non-warranty work because cars really are a lot more reliable then they have been in the past.

Dealers need to treat their customers better, GM needs to treat the customers better.

But here is the key, the customer needs to change as well. You cannot go into a dealer, demanding X Y and Z. If they do what they can do and don't jerk you around, why get upset?

Well maybe money comes very easily to you and you don't mind having something brand new that doesn't work right. That's the problem with this world. EVERYONE is complacent and doesn't want to go the extra mile to resolve a problem.

According to you, if someone buys a brand new car and something goes wrong with it, you don't think the dealer should do anything if they can't "duplicate" the problem? You don't think they should try to get to the bottom of it. They should just let it slide? That's WHY "customer service" is so bad these days! It's not JUST because so many call centers have been outsourced to other countries INCLUDING GMAC!

Glad I didn't get my car from you!
