It could be...I don't think it's chopped...

On second thought, it might be. The back's a little darker than the rest.

Re: First spy shot: Cruze station wagon

chopped or not--that looks great. Reminds me of the old Mazda Protege 5's--slighty bigger.

Put a nice Turbo engine in and I would go for it

Re: First spy shot: Cruze station wagon

Funny how it says a large family will opt for this. A large family will NOT opt for an econobox. I leased and bought 15 passenger wagons for my family and they were barely large enough. We recently tried an HHR and it was too scary small and we dumped it because safety is still most important, no matter the price of gas. Our new Suburban should do the trick now that the kids are all essentially gone. The article says we will immediately understand that picture is of a Cruze. ???? I would have guessed Mercedes.

Re: First spy shot: Cruze station wagon

It's a chop.

Look at where the black strip separates the rear door window that winds down from the fixed quarter window on the sedan pic. It's above the middle of the door handle, it should be in the exact same place on the wagon, but it's missing.

Instead they have tried to reproduce the image of the window frame on the building behind the vehicle as they thought it would be as seen through the glass. But they forgot to put the black strip back. Also the blackout at the bottom of the rear wagon side window is far too thick.

Eventhough, it could possibly be a chop, I'm not feeling it.

A manual wagon variant could help bring in a different group of buyers for GM to any of its show-rooms. It is not a large crowd but one worth pursuing.

Now that the kids are gone a Subruban "should" be big enough.....

Where you are wrong is, the Cruze is NOT an econobox. It is just as wide and just as tall as the Malibu. The front seat interior dimensions are the same, and in some cases BETTER (bigger) than the Malibu. The only reason the Sedan is slotted below the Malibu in size is the wheelbase and rear seat are less. AND, if there was a 5 door wagon version, the wheelbase could very well be extended and that issue would be 'solved'.

Regardless, it isn't an Econobox if it matches, or slightly exceeds the Malibu in many dimensions. (which it does)

Don't forget that this is from an Indian site. It might be small by American standards, but that thing's a Suburban compared to a Tata Nano

"econboxes" are based foremost on price. I look forward to seeing how the interior room compares to my Cobalt.
