C7 gets Dual Clutch Tranny!

http://www.futureoftheunion.com/docs.../bookpages.pdf

Look on page 69 under the Toledo Transmission plant plants. It lists the "RWD DCT for NG Corvette"! That HAS to be a Dual Clutch Transmission. Bet it goes in a mid cycle refresh of the CTS and CTS-V that would be due soon after then also and maybe the Alpha cars.

It was only a matter of time. This is the future of automatic transmissions. Hopefully the manual won't go away.

Probably won't. Traditional manual can probably handle more power than a dual clutch. But with that said, the supposed Corvette dual clutch is going to be strong enough to handle the 400+ HP that the C7 will output.

Re: C7 gets Dual Clutch Tranny!

It is just a manual with the dual clutch setup and automatic shifting. They have been using them in Formula 1 for years. Should be able to use them wherever you use a manual tranny.
