Bluetooth GPS for 2010 Equinox

I just picked up my brand new 2010 Equinox (without the nav system) today and when I went to pair my phone via bluetooth I saw a menu below the "pair phone" option that says "pair GPS receiver". I checked the manual, but it doesn't actually say what this function does. Does anyone know what benefits (if any) there are to pairing a GPS receiver via bluetooth? What functionality does it add to the car?

There are GPS that has BT capability... I suspect the GPS' voice option will be through the stereo.

That's what I figured, but I can't find a list anywhere of GPS receivers that work with the car that way. In fact, checking the entire owners manual that function isn't even listed - you can see it in the photos of the interface but it doesn't tell you what it does. It's the first time I've seen a menu option in a vehicle that isn't described in the owners manual.

I tried that site, but the 2010 Equinox isn't on the list yet, and it only lists phones. I'm going to contact GM and see what they say as my dealer has no clue what the feature does :-(
