Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
FWIW, I caught a YouTube dealer video yesterday. He was showing the interior of a Nox (LTZ) he just got.
Anyway, he opened the center console and you could easily see that the USB port and the plastic around it was white, not black like the original that I had seen in an LTZ. I'm guessing that this means they fixed and/or solved the problem that was there in the first place. |

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
I just watched that video and then compared the jack/port to what's in my LTZ, and it appears to be the exact same thing, except the color of the plastic changed from black to white, as you point out.

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
And don't you just love it when sales people really know their stuff? Like when he said "this has the LTZ wheels." No it doesn't. You can get those wheels on an LS or LT. The 19" chromes are the only ones that are specific to the LTZ trim.

That's what I thought, but the guy who went with me on the test drive said it wasn't. This one was black too and it was on a 2LT that was one of the first shipped to the dealer. Now at least I know what to look for when mine comes in. Thanks, |

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
Well, yes and no. That little piece of plastic is one of two things: 1) an "aux in" jack only, or 2) an "aux in" jack AND USB port.
Either way, that's where your audio device will play nice with the car. Or not, in some of these cases. |

Speaking of mods, well not not really a mod, I always buy front seat seat covers, when I buy a new vehicle. It'll probably be a while before custom fitted one's are out But any that might fit the 2010 Nox? |

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
Here is a picture of my USB jack, with iPhone cord plugged in.
I’ve had no audio problems with the USB interface (memory stick or iPhone). I’ve loaded about 8gig of MP3’s to the hard drive via a memory stick. No problems at all. |

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
Just an FYI. . .
I had the USB Port back-fitted today and it works perfectly with an iPod or thumb drive. It's a little more effort to install than I or my service department had first anticipated. It took them about 5 hours to install, and that includes going through 35 pages of instructions, removing the center console, and re-programming the computer to recognize it. According to the GM rep who was assigned to me, this was a supplier issue. Most 2010 Equinox's that came off the line in the past month or so do not have the port even though the invoice and the window sticker say it should be included. GM is offering a $75 refund if you don't want it. If you do, I suggest calling the Chevy Customer Service number in the back of the manual and get a case number assigned. GM will then make the parts available for dealer installation. I'm glad I had it installed. It's a great feature. |

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
Wow! The USB port is a must-have option for me. Glad I happened to find an early build that had it. I actually would've been kind of ticked if I had ordered one with USB and it came in without it and req'd all that you describe to have it installed.

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
It was a must-have for me, too. And I was ticked that it didn't have it even though it should have been standard on the 2LT. I didn't notice it until I took the car home.
Thankfully, GM made good on it. My dealer did a careful and neat job -- like it was there from the factory. |
