Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
I asked a contact of mine at Warren Tech Center about this, and he had no idea about it...
I don't know. This may just be an isolated problem.

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
There is most likely a constraint issue on the USB port part. They had the same issue with Bluetooth when the 2009 models first came out and shipped. Not to worry, as production of that little part picks up they will either retro fit the ones already built or offer a discount if people dont care about it.

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
Same thing with the bluetooth, they made sure the higher trims all had it but the lower models were sometimes missing the part.

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
These are the overlooked issues that get GM into trouble with customers, many buyers will read reviews or look at the commonly used pictures of LTZ models and not pick up in the fact it must be ordered or (worse) is not available at all on lower trim levels. Many buyers get caught up in the excitement of the test drive when looking for a car and tend to forget about little details like USB ports, the problems arise later when customers are stuck with the vehicle they bought and remember an item like USB ports, or Bluetooth, or the number of positions the seats adjust with or if they have memory or are heated. Many customers remember this and feel "ripped off" since in many cases this issue cannot be "fixed" on their vehicle and GM gets low ratings in quality and customer satisfaction.
Hopefully the "New GM" will eliminate as many of these potential problems as possible in the future by doing a better job of making minor details lke USB ports standard or their omission more obvious. |

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
I have been at various dealers in the past few weeks and noticed that there was a line on the window sticker in most 2LT's saying "USB Port Deletion...$75.00" The dealers really didn't have an answer for this but it looked liked the USB ports were taken out. Well, I finally purchased my 2LT on Friday at a dealer that told me it was taken off the delivery truck 10 minutes before I got there. It had the USB port and there was nothing mentioning any deletion on the window sticker. I plugged in my iPhone 3G and it came up on the stereo with all my music. I was extremely excited. I noticed, however, that after extended usage (maybe 20-25 minutes), there was a loud static noise throughout the speakers and it wouldn't go away if I changed or song or anything. I would have to change to FM/AM/XM or CD to stop the static. It looks like there is some sort of interference with the USB port and the car. Hopefully they will correct this soon as this was a very important feature of the car to me.

I just drove my LTZ for over an hour and listened to music playing off of my $20 PNY branded 8GB flash drive. No problem at all. Don't know what that tells us, other than my particular vehicle doesn't seem to have any problem playing music off of my particular USB flash drive, but I'm just sayin. ![]() |

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
When I went to test drive a 2LT, the salesman told me it had a USB port, but we couldn't find it and it wasn't where the previous post mention it should be.
I ended up buying a 1LT that was already ordered by the dealership and when they printed out the sticker info, it said Bluetooth and USB, so I plan on it being on the vehicle when it arrives. This is from the dealerships second round of ordering the Nox and they added it as an option. I wouldn't have thought to look for this in my panic to get in on c4c, but I'm looking forward to using it now, so it'd better be there ![]() |

Re: 2010 Equinox USB Port
Ha! Yeah just picked it up yesterday! When I got home I was out in the garage playing with everything till about 11pm. My wife had to come out and make sure I was ok!
I知 still working on putting together my thoughts for the feedback thread. The 200 mile drive back home was great, it痴 very quiet on the interstate and the seats are great! Here is a quick photo I snapped with my phone, I値l have better photos this weekend. |

Nice ride! Boy I wish California didn't have front license plates, that's a nice clean look you've got there. Congrats! Looking forward to your real world driving feedback. |
