2010 Equinox Lease?

Anyone manage to get a lease on a 2010 equinox?

I have found out that my credit union will do a lease, they state to give them the buy price, they use 4.98% over 36 to as many as 60 months.. with 2400 for the money factor.. (6% sales has to be included)..

They havent indicated to me yet, if the quote they gave me was for 12k 15k or 18k miles per year, i'm guessing only 12k.. nor have they indicated if when i give them the sales price if i can still include any rebates or if it has to go off msrp (26,670)..

The rate they came up with was $340 per month over 60 (for me, about $125 less per month than the buy over 72 months at 7.63%).

For me, leasing makes more sense, but only if saving this kind of money, i'd then replace it in 5 years.. They also offer another "balloon" type loan, which i havent gotten the rate on yet, but you can refinance the residual.. i'm guessing it would be a deal if the residual is between 8200 and 10,000 but this is unlikely.

Anyone else have any experience with leasing and get any better rates on the 2010 (LT)?

Thanks

Re: 2010 Equinox Lease?

for what its worth...go to craigslist and pick up a guys lease on a vehicle he needs to get out of ..(lease take over)

Lots cheaper and shorter term..

When your dropping the coin for the new equinox...buy one or wait for the truck to be part of swap a lease..

IMHO, I cannot imagine a situation in which a consumer would benefit from leasing a vehicle for more than 36-39 months. A business, maybe (I'll leave that one for the CPAs).

Making a payment for FIVE YEARS and then turning the vehicle in to a dealer? No way.

Actually to me, 3-5 years make sense, especially if there is a warranty throughout the period.. I personally seem to run into issues when i hit year 6 thus far.. so i'd rather dump the car for a new one come the end of year 5, then start fresh, than get into what amounted about $6700 in repair costs over 3 years after that.

Perhaps i just was unlucky in the past, but this has been my experience.

And if saving $100 or more per month, its worth it to me, at least right now in the shorter term (next 1-2 years), vs having my old car die on my any day now or buying a used and running into greater payments due to repair costs.
