Toyota U.S. June sales up 14.4 percent
DETROIT, July 3 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.T: Quote, Profile, Research) on Monday said U.S. vehicle sales rose 14.4 percent as demand for its passenger cars increased amid concern over fuel economy. The world's No. 2 automaker said it sold 223,018 vehicles in the United States last month, compared with 194,875 vehicles a year earlier. Who the heck is buying all these things? It boggles my mind that each month that they post the same or better results than the month before. I mean I can see why people like owning Toyotas, but this growth is phenomenal!

Based on YTD sales, much of Toyota and Honda's sales increases are coming from other imports like Nissan. The big 3 are loosing some car sales to Toyota, but it's not all coming from the Big 3. |
