Honda is only 'big' here in NA. It's concentrated all it's resources here and then to a lesser extent in Japan. In the rest of the world Honda is not a vehicle maker it's an engine maker....a very very good one. For example in Europe it's not even in the top 10. |

The reason that ALL vehicle makers are down in the month of June versus May is that May is the 'thrust' month for 2nd quarter sales. All vehicle makers aim toward this month as the peak month of the 1st half of the year. Then June and July are mediocre until August arrives and that is the peak month for 3rd quarter ( and for the entire year ) then sales wind down again in Sept, Oct, Nov and peak somewhat in December to close out the year. Then the seasonality starts all over again. June will always be a 'down' month overall as compared to May. The numbers reported are not production numbers they are retail/fleet sales at the dealer level. In addition for this year in particular there were 24 selling days in June while there were 27 selling days in May. Right there is a 10% decline for all vehicle makers. |

And you must have been really, really bored to search through 3 thousand of my posts to find one exact word you were looking for. Kudos to you for that!! as far as crotches go, 'crotch rocket' actually has some truth in the meaning considering your crotch sits right on top of the gas tank and you can go insanely fast on a sport bike if you are brave enough so I think that term is fairly correct. Calling for the destruction and demise of import companies in a cloud of rice has no basis in reality and/or the laws of physics as far as I'm aware, though it is thought provoking stuff! How exactly would brick, steel, wood, and other building materials turn into rice and then implode? Would this require a tear or distortion in the space time continuum? Mind boggling!

I work in a Toyota Dealer in Canada as a salesman. ( by the way my english is no good, Chinese)
about the order time 2009 Corolla S auto is around 2 months wait ( no matter what colour) 2009 Corolla LE is around 1.5 months wait ( no matter what colour) 2009 Camry Hybrid is around 5.5 months wait ( no matter what colour) yes 5.5 months i have a customer put down deposit for one in the beginning of june we just can't put his order in as the pipe was already full we may be able to put his order in in the beginning of august and then 3.5 months wait.. so he will not get his vehicle until.mm until Mid of november. 2008 Highlander Hybrid 3.5 months 2008 Prius 3.5 months The total sale number in our dealer stay about the same but we go have more sedan/ small SUV going out then before... Rav4 sell really good.. as it is classleading in MPG ( 4 or V6) Last edited by furyagain : 07-11-2008 at 05:59 PM. |

Here is just one aspect of their bigger than realized fail last month. Btw, you can do this with all of Toyota's line up - many of the conventional powertrain choices are even worse . US (TMS) hybrid sales for JUNE 2008 Model.....................Units...........vs. last month (MAY 2008) Prius....................11,765.................-21.6% Camry...................3,054..................-49.1% Highlander..............1,511.................-42.9% RX400h.................1,330.................-38.3% LS600hL....................73..................-34.8% GS450h.....................73..................-25.5% **************************************** For comparison. All hybrids.............24,917...............-30.1% All vehicles...1,189,108.................-14.9% ***************************************** Also, there is a really neat graph in the upper right hand corner of the original linked article that charts Toyota versus the industry as a whole. Maybe somebody can post it up - it knocks all the Toyota spin on this thread outta' da' park. Here is the address. http://cmsimg.detnews.com/apps/pbcsi...7090377&Ref=AR
