There is no steering column recall for any Lexus here in the U.S. market.
The steering column recall only affected 170,000 Prius's in the U.S. market the rest were worldwide, primarily in Japan. I listed the Prius steering column recall as "steering shaft assy".

The 2007 Camry transmission problem was never an official recall. The term "calling back" was used, but it was not an official recall and thus is not listed in the NHTSA recall database. Also I didn't list recalls under 1,000 for either manufacturer because those small number recalls are insignificant when we are talking about totals in the millions. The 2007 Camry transmission call back was was an estimated at 160 units. This would be and insignificant amount even if it were a recall.

The ball joint recall was in 2005.

A lot of those GM recalls listed by tgferg67 are rolled over from previous year like the tailgate problem, colorado/canyon /isuzu tail lights, cadillac cts, cadillac sts those are from last year but were rolled over to this year's nhtsa . But if you want to include a few from last year don't forget Toyota's 30mil truck recalls

What kind of spin is this?? Nothing is being rolled over. The recalls I listed were by filing date within 2006. All the information is available with in the NHTSA site where recalls are listed by a NHTSA number and the manufacturers filing date of the particular recall.

Also, "Toyota's 30mil truck recalls" would be fictitious as it does not exist. 10.8 million alll year for a manufactuter would be the record in NA.

Re: Toyota Recalls 418,570 Echos, Priuses over Faulty Engines

ive worked for toyota in parts since 1989,good company that pays the bills.but anyway on the campaigns that everbody calls a recall there has only been a couple of ones for toyota that i think are definitly worthy of saying that toyota dropped the ball on manufacturing.the 88-95 3.0 spa engine,3.4 headgasket in tacos when they first came out,and finally the horrible brakes that came on tundra and seqouis.drums on the back and small discs on the front.ya those brakes were a joke.but everything else that gets advertised to the public through the media is almost laughable as the three dealerships ive worked at all these years the cars that come in for these problems just isnt that many.say 100,000 cars are on a campaign divide that by 50 states some more populated than others then the # of dealerships per state and you just dont see the traffic.by the way on the sludge campain on camrys, avalons, solaras and siennas.ive only seen 1 engine have to be replaced.the rest got valve covers and gaskets.finally the newest one from toyota on t-100s and 4x4 pick ups from 86-96 concerning the center link,3 vehicles out of those millions had bent center links.how many get curbed and 4x4d yet toyotas fixing them.one more thing toyota has what they call service bulletins.those are not a recall.its for the techs, writers, and parts people so when a vehicle comes in there able to look into a possible issue that a customer might be complaining about ie squeek or drivability and if there has been history toyota will have a fix.hey every car maker has issues i just dont think toyota is the worst.by the way i am into musclecars ,primarily mopars and 5.0 stangs .but i like all makes and im happy gm is coming out with some exciting new cars with great interiors not to mention the new camaro again. it definetly bummed me out when they killed the f-bodys so dont throw the pro import thing at me please.p.s. no more 4l60e's please lol...

Re: Toyota Recalls 418,570 Echos, Priuses over Faulty Engines

Hey 4406 just want to clarify, Toyota has never recalled the tundra brakes and they really should have they only did the TBS most have been fixed by now. i know you dint say it was a recall but others may see it that way. Ive been happy with my tundra aside from the brakes, only expense in 5 years aside from oil changes and mods has been an 02 sensor that wasn't covered $127 thats it. i may be in the market for a replacement i cant keep the tundra 15 years till it wears out so I'm here
on this site to keep my options open, so far no Nissan, up for grabs Gm Toyota and dodge. ford lost me years ago. so it's a three way for my next truck, thats if we have any oil to run them.

I'm not going to argue wth you about those 30mil old trucks and cars toyota was beign investigated for but you could search for them since they were at this web site in the beginning of the year, anyways like I said before most of those GM recalls were from last year especialy the tail gate cables that started in sept. 2004 and has been rolled over to 2006 again look them up and see for yourself tgferg67.
