Your Miata has WAY better natural dynamics because of its longer wheelbase, lower center of gravity, excellent weight distribution, etc. They added a lot of this stuff to the smart after early versions displayed a tendency to tip over.

It does not have the below - but thats ok. some of that crap is more a hindrance than an aid (i.e stability control...maybe ABS).

same mileage I get.
That's cool. I wasn't trying to push the 4-2 on anyone, I just think that for the boutique car that it is (basically a toy for well-to-do urbanites), it's pretty good. I wanted a Yaris 3-door, until I found out that here in the Midwest, I have to get it with a certain option package to get what I want in it, which is more than I want. No one back here carries the stripped version, so I plan to buy a used SC1/5sp. Anyway, I don't think the 4-2 is for everyone, but I don't think it deserves all the insults and such that people are giving it. It's not supposed to replace the Impala.

Re: Toyota IQ in USA?

Here are some spy pics of the 'IQ' test mule. Looks pretty much ready to go. My curiosity has been piqued.

Re: Toyota IQ in USA?

I like this car but liked the concept much better due to its reliance on triangles as a design element.

Say - I like that too. If it really does have room for 3 adults + child, it's better than the for two. I'd just assumed that feature would not make it out of Japan to meet our safety standards.

To me it just doesn't look safe.
When you opt for a car that small, there goes the utility of the vehicle.
Just buy a compact.
