Spy Shots: 300bhp Ford Focus RS

Don’t be fooled by the looks of this test car. It is not the ordinary Ford Focus ST but the brand-new Focus RS. Looking closer at the front end one can see the bigger air intakes and the driver helps drawing the photographers attention by giving him the finger and putting his foot down. The sound of the 300-bhp engine was unmistakable, just like the car’s fast acceleration with four-wheel-drive and the rally-like sound of that dump valve while shifting gears. Add some wide fenders, a more aggressive front end styling and you have the Focus RS, a true competitor to the upcoming EVO X.

Re: Spy Shots: 300bhp Ford Focus RS

A Ford product that really piques my interest. Basically mostly all the Euro Fords excite me, most of the American ones I find repulsive.

At first I was reminded of a 1994 Pontiac LeMans, but this Focus is much more appealing. Bring it here and let the Cobalt play catch up, everybody wins.

I WANT TO WARN EVERYONE - IT IS STILL NOT CLEAR WHETHER THIS IS THE RS OR THE TDCI ST ...

the Badge says TDCI ST - and officially, RS is still dead ... but people have their hopes up and make assumptions -

at this point - no-one I know could confirm this is NOT TDCI ST - and at this point, they all just throw their hands up is despair - no one knows anymore where the truth lies.

yes.. but this is about more than a name..

thei regular ST has the 2.5l Turbo 5cylinder making 250hp through FRONT WHEELS ..

the TDCI will also be FWD .. but a diesel - but still quick .. like the 888 Astra

The RS was supposed to me even more powerful (300hp), but AWD - which was the most important piece of that model. (I forget which engine was to be used to make the 300hp).

So the big question really is whether it is a FWD Diesel or AWD Gasser

LOL!!!!!

How true.

Thats a hot little car. I don't know why they don't bring something like that here. Ford NA could really use a car like that.

Ain't that the truth ....

We should finally see hot Focus models when the all-new Focus drops as 2010/2011 model.

the 08 Redesigned Focus is just a patch. (another one)
