This would make a much more convincing "Saab" SUV than a Trailblazer in disguise.

I'm sorry all I see R big plastic trash bags pasted all over a car. How is it that U guys can see the past all of that and post such negative comments. I'm pretty sure the trash bags R'nt supposed 2 make it in2 production...or R they and if that is the case then I can understand the disgust.

I assume you have never been to NYC or heard of the Tribeca Film Fest?

Deffinatly looks like a great Saab 9-7x as well. Very Euro, but Im sure we will hear the Saabaru BS over and over gain. Saab and Subie were seperated at birth, sent to different parts of the world, yet the make cars that are very similar to one another.

What a stupid-*** name. Tribeca? How about the "Greenwich Village"? Or the "Elitist'? It's clear that Subaru is doing everything possible to appear "un-butch".

Very good point Casket Demon. I personally cannot give a final opinion on design until the bags come off.

I know myself that I wouldn't purchase a vehicle named Tribeca, its a very feminine name Assosiated (In NY at least) with an "Up-And-Coming" town filled with diversity and energy. Now do I believe that....notttt really, but to each their own. I guess the "Up-And-Coming" part would be good for Subaru. It doesn't look too bad, I just want to see it without the "Trash Bags" to see what they have done with the Grille.

NYC? Film Fest?! What the Hell are those!?

Sure I've heard of it. One of the Tribeca Film Festival's founders was Robert De Niro. But that doesn't explain why Tribeca makes a good name for a car, unless it features a bunch of DVD players or something. Besides, De Niro doesn't strike me as the type to be driving around a Subaru anyway. He seems more like a Lincoln Town Car kind of guy, being chauffeured when he must of course.

yeah, that's a little too masked to make a good judgement. with a pretty nose it could look just fine. overall, the shape lends itself to a saab badge (like ming said). is this the vehicle that will replace (or become) the 9-7?

as for the name 'tribeca', it seems odd to me. it's more recognizable than something totally made up (like catera or aveo), but the word still doesn't really mean anything to most people. canyon or colorado makes me think of rugged terrain and vast wilderness... tribeca? not a clue! doesn't really roll off the tongue either. and is it supposed to replace the forester, or is it significantly bigger?

Boo Hoo! Who really cares what it's named? :argue: Tribeca certainly doesn't connote rugged terrain or adventurous outings, but how much excitement do the names G6 or CTS really convey?

If you ask me, Subaru has been churning out some really good product as of late (WRX, WRX STi, Outback, upcoming Legacy, even the lesbian Forrester), granted at a premium price. I know they are trying to become a premium brand but I would seriously consider buying one as my next vehicle. The upcoming Legacy GT is SWEET! Leather, 4WD, 250 HP turbo boxer 4 and a boatload of bells and whistles.

I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised by this vehicle regardless of the name. And wouldn't you rather Saab borrow Subaru underpinnings than those of an American-bred truck? I know I would.

I am now dismounting from my soap box...

Have fun revving it to 8,000 RPM.
