"The sedan will be followed by the wagon's introduction six months later, with the coupe and convertible making their debut in the fall of 2006."

See guys, if BMW can do it with the 3-series, Pontiac can do it with the G6.

just because BMW can doesn't mean they should! and i think pontiac needs to make a great impression here, while it seems some days that BMW can do no wrong in some peoples eyes.

even though lightly disguised, this 3-series looks better than the 5 and 8 series and Z4. hard to decide though... the grille looks very odd masked like that.

I'm not sure of reliability but they are basicly always on the Car and Drivers 10 best List and are a great little sedan. My sister had an old one but it wasn't like the new ones because it broke down all the time. :P

it doesn't look too bad, definitely toned down compared with the 5 series, etc. does anyone else think the front somewhat resembles a holden from just a couple years ago? but i think that's largely because of the way the taping/masking makes the headlights look. if you look close i can tell they will be bigger and shaped differently than what is currently exposed.

There is nothing as bad as having a breakdown in a car you paid tons for. Its better if it’s a cheap old Hyundai, but a BMW or Range rover on a steaming Summer day on the side of a HOT freeway waiting for triple A is not my Idea of Luxury car.
That is why I think buying an old Bemier or Audi is a very dumb idea. The old Leather is meaningless at such a point

It's sad that my best friend bought an 2003 3-Series only just to impress the girls. It's even sadder when I cramed a Consumer Reports in his face and saw that my 03 Grand Am had higher marks than his :P

so far this is turning out to be the best looking new gen BMW, it only took them 3 cars to figure out that the design looked like crap. but i think this may be a little on the bland side, i mean it looks great, but not a very big leap like i was expecting. i saw some very nice looking CGI's, if there is any class that BMW offers in america the 3-series is where they should be testing there design limits.

a friend of mine has a 91 3 series that i am thinking about buying. it's a good car with about 110k on it. just needs a little maintenance (brakes) but other than that there are no problems with it. i really don't care if it's a BMW or not, i just want a small car with RWD, and absolutely NO ONE offers such a thing aside from BMW that i can actually afford, all the newer ones are too expensive. this is exactly why chevy needs to build the nomad. no, i couldn't afford it right now anyway, but it fits the criteria of exactly what i want. i just want RWD in something besides a sports car or a police cruiser.

The Nissan 240SX is your answer my man. From 1989-1994 Nissan ofered a Coupe and Fastback. From 1995-1998 they only had a coupe. The RWD 240SX handles like a dream and it had a decent 2.4L engine in it. It is way more reliable than any bimmer and parts and maintanence cost alot less too.

thanks for the recommendation, but would that not qualify as a sports car? regardless, i would really like to have 4 doors. i know that may sound stupid to most people, especially coming from a 20 year old, but i simply prefer cars with 4 doors. (the nomad being a possible exception )

I guess the 3-Series of that vintage is the way to go then. The 240SX was more like a sporty car. I don't think it was classified as a sports car.

Wow, that 3-Series looks a lot better than the 5/7/X3/Z4 pieces of crap. I'm guessing that this is another success for BMW.
