Re: Spied: 2010 S-Class

Different people, different life...Loved the S Class since the original in 1971. Almost bought a used 2007, but that fell through. Today with the dollar exchange rate, it's much too dear to justify, so I'll get a Jaguar instead.

Copycat.
It's really a worthy choice.

Be fair, remember it was I initially who mentioned interest in the Jaguar, after disqualification of the Audi S5, for over 6 months now. Elsewhere you'll find that my purchase is contingent on the availability of the 5.1L V8. Also I am in the process of trading my older STS for a Ford Escape Hybrid, to assist my in Town treks. It uses no gasoline for trips where 40 miles per hour isn't reached.

The Jaguar like my 06 STS will probably only be driven 7k per year, so it's very much a luxury and not a necessity.

Oh I'd been eyeing the XF as a possible candidate since Jaguar announced production. And the fact that I can order a Leaper on the XF makes it that much sweeter.
But I've got lots of time to make my decision.

I've been thinking about making the XF (or whatever car I get) a low mileage auto.... while getting a smaller "tool around town" car for everything else.

My first choice was Astra. I totally love the car, but the lack of sunroof in the 3 door is a dealbreaker.
So... maybe a Cooper or Clubman.... But I haven't had the time to drop by the dealership.
I want something stylish.... and not frumpy looking.... and has good mileage. And preferably not Japanese.
