Re: Spied: 2010 Ford Taurus
Looks like this will beat the Impala to market by at least two years.

Looks better then the last generation 500....I mean Taurus. Too bad the Impala is still in waiting.

Re: Spied: 2010 Ford Taurus
I agree that Impala is in for a tumble. If not when this new Taurus appears, then soon anyway. It's old.
I think the new FWD Impala is due for MY 2011, Am I right?

The new Impala is due in 2012 I think.
Too bad you can't see much of this Taurus.

Re: Spied: 2010 Ford Taurus
I'm sure the delay in the Impala is due to limited resources. GM is pouring everything it has into it's small cars and the Volt. I'd be surprised if the Impala is ready by 2012, if at all.

Re: Spied: 2010 Ford Taurus
Yeah the engineers did a good job with the rear diaper but the pre production prototype should have given us a sneak peek into the front styling if ford decided to use it. I will be on the look out for this tester when I go to MPG later in July

The current car, while on the old W platform, is about 3 years old. Sales are actually pretty good. I've read somewhere that it may be the effect of customers going to see a new Malibu, finding few if any of that car to choose from, and leaving with an Impala. As old as it is, it is quite a value for the money and fits the needs of a lot of families. It may (SHOULD) get a new interior (FAST!!!) and maybe some exterior trim enhancements for 2010. But it will probably soldier on, selling more and more to fleet customers as it ages, until its replaced.

Re: Spied: 2010 Ford Taurus
Compared to that first spy-shot, the front end looks pretty similar. Interesting how they really flattened off the roof.
