SEMA 2007: 2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin

http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...SS01/710250410

no performance modifications mentioned .. so we will have to see about that. Originally this was to be a true SVT truck with the 3.5l TwinForce .. God knows what happened to that.

Re: SEMA 2007: 2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin

^^if they made some minor changes in the interior - I might just buy one .. I always had only minor gripes with the SportTrack .. one thing I want is a better engine ... more efficient V6, or more powerful V8.

All show, except the performance AWD. Still pretty good looking, and if we really want to be honest with ourselves, $30,000 plus a WARRANTIED Ford Racing supercharger for the 4.6 (good for 425hp) isn't anything to laugh at.

I meant as a Ford Racing accessory... they sell them for Mustangs, and considering the Sport-Trac uses a Mustang engine. It's about $7,000, and produces 500hp out of the 4.6.

Re: SEMA 2007: 2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin

Not bad, although I greatly prefer the concept's better integrated running boards (look right in front of the rear wheels to see what I mean).

Too bad it doesn't get any performance accessories. If they can supercharge so many F150 variants (Harley Davidson, Funkmaster Flex, etc.) - then why not the "performance" Sport Trac?

Oh yeah, and I hate how they left the 'e' off of the end of Adrenaline.

Not crazy about the "Audi-esque" grille, but the rest is pretty sharp.

Why? Why waste effort into this? I doubt they sell many.

Mainly because it doesn't cost Ford anything, and it gives dealers something cool to put on the showroom floor. For all intents and purposes, this is a bodykit, a new grill, and new rims, as well as some interior trim changes. The AWD is right out of the Mountaineer.

For $40,000, I get a crew cab truck with AWD and 500hp... kinda hard to beat that deal.

Re: SEMA 2007: 2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin

there is a discussion over a BOF that there is a chance Ford is going to release an SVT version of the Adrenalin in Detroit .. they are holding off that release, because they want the MKS to be the first one introduced with the TwinForce engine. MKS will be revealed in LA over thanksgiving. So Ford would end up with the kind of lineup Cobalt had with Cobalt SS and Cobalt SS Supercharged, or F150 HD, and F150HS Supercharged .. not sure whether it works but that seems to be the plan

I presume the 3.5TF will bolt up to the engine bay with no issue (3.5 is a tiny engine for its displacement, and the hair-dryer plumbing can't take up that much room), so at this point, it's just a matter of shipping the TFs to the Explorer plant, and integrating them into the assembly line.

A better question would be, if Ford is willing to take the logistics hit with shipping 3.5 TFs to the Explorer plant, why not make the 2.5TF an optional engine with the Explorer? It'd do wonders for fuel economy, at least...
