Nice incremental improvement, IMO.
How small are your increments? Also, the look of the truck is a huge factor for many buyers.

Re: Refreshed Ridgeline Spied

I didn't kow they re-did the Pilot. I just checked it out. Now I know why everyone compares this to it. It doesn't look bad. It looks like an older Ford Escape with an ugly grille and stretched out.

Agreed ... there's no reason the Ridgeline needs to be so ugly, but I think the unibody FWD/AWD pickup may portend the future of lighter-duty pickups. The vast majority of pickups don't need to haul horse trailers.

Re: Refreshed Ridgeline Spied

I refuse to open any link pointing to a Ridgeline considering the damage it did to my eyesight last time. It's bad enough some idiot bought a Pilot in our neighbourhood. Probably a Honda dealer or something and has to drive the thing as I can't see anyone wanting to actually buy it.

I'm going to take the dead horse out another time, since I've been over this dozens of times:

- The Ridgeline drives better than any half ton pickup because it's got a four wheel independent suspension.
- The Ridgeline has a shorter turning radius than any crew cab half ton.
- Ridgeline 0-60 mph is just under 9 seconds, which is dusted by a Vortec Max or a Nissan Titan but still not bad for a truck.
- Ridgeline has 4WD and a locking rear diff standard.
- Ridgeline tow rating is 5000 pounds, not good for a camper but plenty for a little horse trailer or lawn tractor cart.

Last but not least.
- A Dodge Ram, Nissan Titan, or Chevy Silverado crew cab or Chevy Avalanche optioned with the same options and safety features that are standard on a base model Ridgeline runs about $7,000 more. (Until model year 2009, the F-150 doesn't even offer side curtain airbags.)

There are millions of people with "casual use" pickups on the road. For the people who do really rough work with their trucks, obviously the Ridgeline is a joke. For everyone else - and that's millions of people - it's just as useful to their needs as any crew cab half ton they buy, and a lot cheaper.

Ahhh... Don't pay for more vehicle than you will ever use. What a concept.

That is typical of a "refresh." It's like splashing a little water on your face on a hot day, as opposed to a full redesign, which is like jumping in a pool.

Re: Refreshed Ridgeline Spied

Based on capability, it seems like the Ridgeline is more of a Colorado competitor.

Ridgeline/Colorado 4x4 Crewcab

HP/Torque: 247/245 vs 242/242
Payload: 1550lbs vs 1338lbs
Towing: 5000lbs vs 5500lbs
0-60: I imagine they're about the same
Fuel economy: 15/20 vs 15/20

got about as much done as the XLR "refresh"... that actually was a backward design refresh... I'm just indifferent to this... maybe the interior has been updated?
