Official : 2009 Corolla (non sema)

As expected the Corolla is just a mild reskin of the current mody - the green house is visibly carry-over. The interior shows the same hard points with improved execution and added Navi, but still "same old"

Looks...like a mild reskin. Not bad, but it isn't even close to the Mazda 3's and Honda Civic's of the world.

I'm very surprised Toyota didn't come out guns blazing on this one. Isn't this their best selling car worldwide?

You don't mess with perfection. (I think i've been drinking too much Toyota Kool-Aid).

I'm obviously in the minority, but when it comes to small cars, I hate the added doodads like wings and body skirts. Just give me a clean looking small car. Honda seems to do these very well with the Civic although the latest looks a little gimicky on the inside.

It's ok. I would be hoping for better than this...but glad they didn't make it worse.

Bottom line, if I was in the market for a Corolla, this wouldn't make me any more, nor any less, likely to buy the new model.

That's not a new corolla.

That's the old one with a Camry nose. I think it sort of an improvement, but that car is too tall to have ground effects and still look cool. Honda's have better (lower) stances.

I read Toyota had delayed the Corolla to improve the styling. Now that it is finally out, why did they bother? If GM put plastic cladding like that on any of their cars, the Auto Press would murder them in print.

How in the world the current Corolla (or future Corolla now that I've seen it) outsells the Civic is a mystery for the ages. The Civic is few dollars more equivalently equipped, but is better than the Corolla in every single objective and subjective way. The current Corolla is all the proof that is needed to confirm Toyota is a cult. I can't imagine any sane, competent human who actually drove and compared the Corolla and the Civic would actually buy the Corolla over the Civic.

As for the topic...the nose looks mismatched to the rest of the car...

Good thing this isn't a new GM product...we'd have loads of complaints here already!

oh, wait...
