they (government of burma and tshusho) can shove it up their ass if they continue to work with each other as they continue to torture the burmese people. and I'm offended by this.

IMO, any company with third world manufacturing should be automatically disqualified from a "most reputable" list.
They're almost certainly a party to human rights abuses or at least turning a blind eye to it.
I'm sure that will still leave plenty of eligible companies.

Because a great many people could care less about the people that make the products we use. It's too Leftist to care if that shoe maker in Vietnam has had a day off, just don't make me pay a fair price for the shoe, that's Capitalism. It's all touchy-feely to wonder if the Burmese girl who sewed your shirt together is being beaten for not working fast enough, just keep 'em coming.

My question is that the going theme here is that in a down market the unionized employees should give away everything, all their pay, all their benefits to "help" the company. Well what happens when times are good is the favor returned? Toyota had a annual profit of what $13 billion in 2007? Where's the return favor? Working someone to death, literally.
The incessant UAW bashing here was my point.

And so the UAW has not outlived it's usefulness, since it has achieved it's goals. Labour laws now do their job.

Of all the Rags, Motor trend i feel does have the best view of GM, However, While they will have this GM slant You speak of from time to time, there are occasions(most of the time actually) where I am left scratching my head about what they nit pick over GM's cars compared to say an Asian/German brand. They will be the first to exalt Gm for a job well done and gush all over them, but for minor things MT will tear them apart, BAD. I think it depends on the issue who wrote what article. Some writers have only good things to say about the gerneral while others nothing good to say. But hey MT is no where near the level if BS that C&D is so thats why i steal it from work. haha

Everyone Here In The Good Ole Usa Who Buys A Toyota Should Work Overtime Voluntary And Be Unpaid Too....see How They Like It ....and Just Maybe Their Companies Will Turn A Strong Profit Too. Non Union Is Still Slave Labor ...no Matter What Certain Jack Offs Have To Say About It....

90% of the people here are more then likely cheering Toyota and wished GM was doing the same thing here in the states. After all if those workers don't like it then should do something else... Down with workers rights and let's cheer Toyota for finding ways to make more profits....

The answer - setting aside all moral considerations .......an absolutely first class job of public relations and market perception 'management'.

The 'ugly', bad side news gets suppressed and disappears so what remains - the 'good' , artificially then 'appears' better than it really is.

Then that gets spun beyond recognition.

There is at this point, about a 90% error factor behind common interpretations of what Toyota was and really is and most importantly WHY they have been successful.

They quite possibly and I'm not joking when I say this, may have the most successful Propaganda machine the World has ever known.

Not only do they have a dark side, within that is a subgroup that's dark and dirty - real dirty at that.

All the people that have helped further along this company and the 7 layers of spin and lies surrounding it can feel real proud of themselves today - especially most of the press.

There are many more including at least 5 tenured faculty members at MIT, at least two of whom should be academically censored and disbarred.

Those of them that still have a conscience and are troubled by this are going to learn a real unpleasant truth about life; the stain of blood money never washes off.

Watch how this and the history of these types of practices continues to not be reported - along with the rest .

An established investigative reporter or writer could write a book on this - they would be set for life if they did so.

A little off topic, but several years ago while in Spain I was shocked that McDonalds was serving food in the same styrafoam containers that they were forced to get rid of in the United States.

Toyota stinks and I tell everyone I can. Unfortunately there are a lot of really scummy corporations in the world.

Re: More Skeletons in the Closet for "Friendly" Toyota

I e-mailed this to my local stations and you guys should do the same. I am tired of Toyota never getting bashed while it is a daily occurence for the Detroit 3.
