Kia has revealed four teaser images of a new small crossover concept, which previews a rival to the Nissan Juke. There’s no name as yet for the concept, but Kia has confirmed that it will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Described in the press release as “a provocative and racy new urban concept car,” Kia’s new baby won’t just have the Juke to deal with should it make production, but a whole host of B-segment crossovers arriving in showrooms soon. These include the Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur and a new Honda Jazz-based crossover shown at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this month.

And a production version seems extremely likely, using market trends and Kia’s current line-up as a guide. In the B-segment, Kia already sells the Rio and Venga, but while supermini MPV sales are slowing, compact crossovers sales are going through the roof, hence this new direction.

Fastest thing they could pop out is equip the Soul with the 200 HP GDI 2.4 Theta. OR 270 HP 2.0t. Fast to production, fast on the road and track.

At 162" the Soul is about Juke-sized and IIRC shorter than the Rio sedan by a small margin.

Yeah, this thing is atrocious, considering the roll Schreyer has been on lately.

Instead of a new ugly vehicle, how about equipping the Soul with AWD and a turbocharged engine? And adding a production version of the Track'ster Concept to the lineup?

Every time I see a Juke on the freeway I consider putting my car straight in to a barrier and ending it all....hopefully this won't be as bad an eyesore.

With the correct engine and a good front-end this could be a cool little car. The first time I saw a Juke I was almost mortified but the vehicle in general grew on me. The front of the Juke is what kills it so I hope Kia does a much better job.
