Re: Joint Subaru / Toyota lightweight RWD coupe spied for first time

You can't tell anything by that photo. There is an article about this upcoming car in the latest Road&Track. It sounds like it will be a 3000lb car with a 2.0 boxer for starters at around $15,000 and go up from there. Subaru might also get a car out of this collaboration but with AWD and more power.

Re: Joint Subaru / Toyota lightweight RWD coupe spied for first time

A Subaru coupe would be pretty sweet. Remind me to get an SVX (or an XT!) someday. This mule isn't showing much cuz from what I can tell, the front and rear are pulled from the current Legacy

Hmmmmmm, I don't know, I'm sort of inrigued. Good work on the camo, it could look like anything from a Civic coupe to a 3-Series.

The rear end looks like its straight off of the current Legacy.

It looks like it could be a baby Lexus. Not that sporty in my eyes.

Roofline's excessively high...just more idiotic and illogical design from failyota.

I don't see where it is.

And I don't care if it's ugly. Small inexpensive rwd = automatic win.

Sure looks tame...I was hoping for something radical.

Re: spied: Toyota/Subaru coupe

Well, remember it is supposed to be inspied by the AE86, and it looks an awful lot like at 84 Corolla GT-S coupe, so I'd say it is about spot on.

Re: spied: Toyota/Subaru coupe

The front looks very S2000'ish IMO. Also, why would Subaru want a RWD car? Thats not who they are....

Re: Joint Subaru / Toyota lightweight RWD coupe spied for first time

I dunno. The front end grabbed me initially. Looks aggressive. Looks like a car I'll be seeing at the track. The front end shoulders over the wheel wells gives it an aggressive look. Looks just tailor made for the +20 year old male looking for some performance and aggressive looks.

Could be a winner for 'em. So basically this would be a "poor mans" IS?
