International MXT: When a Hummer isn't monster enough

International is set to take the wraps off a new, slightly smaller, slightly cheaper offering in its line of monster pickup trucks.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - If you laugh in the face of high fuel prices...if nothing makes you happier than looking down on those tiny Hummers and F-250 Super Duty pickups...and if you don't have six figures to spend...International Truck has a ride for you.

Atleast Hummers have a point. This game is just getting stupid.

The MXT will start at $69,900, and get up to about $85,000 fully loaded. That's comparable to the Land Rover Range Rover HSE or bit above the asking price for a fully loaded Cadillac Escalade.
Seems to be priced right.

I like it. I have no use for one, but it looks nice. Maybe for people that have massive towing needs, or men who have to compensate for something, this is the truck.

The only use I would have for this is if I was towing a 5th wheel. THe price is reasonable though

Re: MXT: When a Hummer isn't monster enough

I dont like the mxt all that much. I keep looking at it like its a butchered hummer for some reason. That CXT though. Dude if i was a millionare and was hung like an ant i would buy one immedietally, they are that cool and rediculous. I saw jay leno testing one and he was really impressed except that he couldnt park anywhere, it was too high for some low clearences and it has less than green mileage.

BTW isnt international italian? I know they make trucks in Australia but im pretty sure theyre italian.

International (Harvester) have always been a VERY American company, the descendant of IH's truck division, Navistar, is still an American public company, headquartered in Chicago.

Re: International MXT: When a Hummer isn't monster enough

After seeing some International models, they don't look at "rugged" as Hummers. I'd like to see a military concept though. Can they be that much better than the Hummer?

SIDE THOUGHT: Is the govt just switching manufacturers to make it seem like they're being fair to the commercial auto industry. The govt does switch-up often just for that fact alone, and not because of past performance. They don't won't to look as though they favor one company over other competing businesses.

It's hard to believe that the govt, after so many years, will abandon Hummer as it's principle military all-purpose vehicle manufacturer.

Re: International MXT: When a Hummer isn't monster enough

looks like a lincoln in the front (year 2001 ish)...I don't like it, Hummer should make a competitor LOL and destroy taht thing. Get Arnold to advertise in a commercial destorying that thing with a rocket launcher as he is on top of a Humvee, and have him say : "Hummer, like nothing else" hasta la vista baby BLAST! Nice thought for a commercial. ?
