Those are still large SUV's, but they didn't make the pick, I guess. Seems to me the Lambdas have a bit of an identity crisis: Some call them large SUV's, some mid-sized SUV's, some large crossovers, and some mid-sized crossovers. Which is it? when I got my Enclave I never really thought of it as an SUV, and certainly not a van, although a cousin of mine who saw our new Enclave, after I claimed it as a crossover, not a mini-van, he said with a smirk, "it's a van " To me, Large SUV's are 4WD, BOF truck-like, so I guess I agree with you. But, still...nice they are classified differently than the Flex, Edge, Piliot, and Highlander.

I have still not heard this reported on any of the major TV news outlets. Why does that not surprise me?

When I saw the list I just assumed the MKZ was redundant or something, Im sure its a top afety pic as well. And the Sable and Taurus X will most likely be leaving the list, but Ford has been consitant with every new vehicle being put on that list. The MKT is based off the Flex which is in turn a taurus so im sure that will be on the list, as with the updated expedittion/ navigator, the new fiesta, 2011 Explorer Xover, and the next focus.

Question Re: Ford Tops IIHS Crash Test; GM Gets 8 Top Picks

So lets get this right.

Saab 9-3 in picture, Ford gets headline, no mention of Saab at all.
On a GM forum????

No headline that the convertible won IIHS best saftey pick award..
Achieving 35 of a maximum 37 points
That's 2 years in a row now...

But hey Ford have potential Pffff.....

CTV news covered it, both the AM and Evening shows. But they Added "With the help of Volvo", "Honda and Acura came in second" No "With the help of Acura"

Re: Ford Tops IIHS Crash Test; GM Gets 8 Top Picks

Safety and the crash tests have been blown all out of proportion.
There is something call " economy of operation' which is, IMO, more important..This should be concentrated on by the auto-makers..
And where is the 40 to 50 mpg Diesel ?
Over in Europe ? and they are ten plus years ahead of us !

The MkZ has different door engineering so it has a lesser crash rating. I Know sucks.
