    Fiat to bring back Innocenti?

Detroit: Fiat working on low-cost branch
    17 JANUARY 2013
    Auto Edizione

Sergio Marchionne has mentioned something in Detroit which had been rumored about before; Fiat is secretly working on a low-cost branch. It could mean the return of Innocenti, which has been in Fiat’s hands since the early nineties, back when De Tomaso was forced to sell the brand together with Maserati. In the last chapter of this brand, Fiat built the Innocenti Mille and Elba based on the previous Uno and Duna, in times when the Punto was already on sale. In other words; low-budget cars for those who won’t or can’t spend a lot of money.

Those those that might not know, Innocenti started as the importer of some BMC vehicles to Italy.

Next Up: Sergio will probably bring back Autobianchi...

I thought Sergio there would be no more adding or subtracting of brands.

Well, he's got to spend all those Chrysler profits somewhere....he probably cannot wait until he gets his hands on Chrysler's balance sheet cash,

Now that sounds interesting. Was it a POS, a neat car, or just a plain ol' car?

They are basically doing what Nissan is doing with Datsun. This is most likely for developing countries.
