Facelifted Ford Escape caught

Looks like Ford's Escape is headed for a refresh. After staking out the darkest corners of a Kroger parking lot, our spy photographers caught an unmasked mule that clearly shows new headlights and a chrome center grille similar in design to the 2006 Explorer. We can only hope significant upgrades are planned for the interior too as the Escape has been in need of cabin improvements for years.

looks like they got rid of the shiit mirrors like on my 2001.

that face is scary though. looks like the windows are the same...is this car gonna be the next ranger? (aka millions of little facelifts same body for 20 years)

Re: Facelifted Ford Escape caught

About time. Looks good but will reserve final judgment upon seeing the final product. The body is not the same by a long shot, half of the fuel filler cap is on the rear fender wich are very prominent. Ford has always said that this will be a substantial redesign. I guess I will have to get rid of the Mariner before this new car hits the street and my resale value takes a big plunge Hello MKX

Re: Facelifted Ford Escape caught

Must they put that horrid chrome thing on every Ford SUV, it is UGLY x10!!! Earth to Ford, 80% of Americans hated this look on the new VW's, hated it on the new Audi's, hated it on the Explorer and Expedition, so why on earth would you carry it over to the Escape?!?! I try and like Fords, I really do, but they make it really hard when they do this. . . . .

Note: I am only commeting on the grill/bumper chrome thing, I can't judge the rest of it due to the awkward angle it is at, but that grill. . . . . . .

looks more truckish, but that is good with the new edge to supplant the crossover fad.

Re: Facelifted Ford Escape caught

The front end is hideous. Ford is messing up all of their SUVs w/ this new front end treatment. I hope GM is taking accurate notes.

Must all Ford SUV's resort to F350 "chissled in stone", appearance?

Anything has to be better than the current gray plastic front end.

About time that inject some excitement into that thing! I like what I see here, but I'll wait until I see the grille before I judge it too much.

80% of Americans hated this look? You work for Gallup or what? I know bad taste runs rampid in this nation but such generalization is a little bit adventurous. Don't you think? BTW I LOVE those chromed Ford SUVs grills.

Re: Facelifted Ford Escape caught

Time for GM to update the Equinox with the new Chevy SUV design theme. The pics seem to show that an interior upgrade and engine upgrade are in the works... but I hope there's more tweaking on the design.

This Escape refresh will be welcomed. It should keep the new Rav 4 from stealing any more sales for a while.

I remember when people liked there trucks and SUVs to be boxy and rugged looking. Heck, I remember when people complained that the '88 redesign of the C/K because it was too rounded. I always thought the rounded look of many Fords in the 1990s was taken too far.
