Employee Pricing: It's baaaaaack...at Ford

DEARBORN, Mich., June 2, 2008; Ford Motor Company is offering its truck customers the opportunity to purchase or lease a 2008 model year pickup for the same price Ford employees pay.

Beginning today and running through June 30, Ford's Employee Pricing Program will be available on 2008 model F-Series pickups, including the F-150, F-250 and F-350. Harley Davidson and chassis cab models are not included.

"Customers have made F-Series America's best-selling truck for 31 years because it gets the job done. Now, we're offering even more value on our hard-working trucks," said John Felice, Ford general marketing manager. "The Ford Employee Pricing Plan on 2008 model F-Series is a great deal with a clear, compelling message that shows customers how much we value their business." Customers in the more than 3,600 Ford showrooms across the U.S. will be eligible to receive the highly prized employee discount pricing.

The Plan

The plan is simple to understand. All 2008 model F-Series, except Harley Davidson and chassis cab models, will be sold at employee discounted price plus cash incentives,.

Beginning June 3, participating dealers will receive supplemental window stickers for 2008 models F-Series outlining the MSRP, the employee discount and applicable cash rebates.
The Ford Employee Pricing Plan will be advertised through print, television, radio and Internet ads featuring the employees who build Ford F-Series pickups.

yup - .. ho well - as long as it stays with F-150 it is OK .. well sort of .. (I guess it is a little more OK given that it is an outgoing model) but I am still worried ... PLEASE - PLEASE Ford do NOT slip!!

Man, I really didn't think any of the domestics would ever bring back employee pricing.

High gas prices and employee pricing....I'd hate to see the resale value of a used model. On the up side, for those that really need a truck, this is definitely a good time to buy.

I'm working on it as we speak. LOL

Hopefully this deal gets the payments where I want them. Yesterday I was priced invoice (at least what they say it is) minus $5000 in rebates (about $9000 off of MSRP, total).

Today, it is A-plan (which I have no idea about the price) and $2000 in rebates ($2500 if financed through Ford Credit). Hopefully it will end up at least $1500 less than the last deal. That will be a payment that makes me happy (in the 500's).

Sorry to go off topic. This just kinda has me a bit stressed, as it will be the most expensive vehicle I have ever bought (MSRP is $47000).

ya know this is a good time for it - more than just re: overall sales
the new F-150 has Job1on July23
and the "employee discount" is something customers can understand (& believe) as opposed to more complicated schemes

it'd be interesting to see (someone else ) put together a comparo of how close other mfgs come to the E.D. by adding up all the rebates

It's interesting that Ford won't publish the employee pricing. You have to go into a dealer to see it. From what little I could find the base price is $16,274 -$2500 in cash back or $13,744. About the price of an Aveo sedan, Honda Fit, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, Smart ForTwo or Toyota Yaris.

Yes.

The pricing is on F-series vehicles only.

The MKS already has over 8600 orders, and Ford is only looking for 35K a year from it.

On a side note, the new MKS commercial is cool.
