Re: Chrysler lowballs price of its SUV hybrids, starting at $45,340
actually It's 3LT it has heated and memory seats that the 2LT does not. Also yeas a durango and ASpen are a lot cheaper and smaller then Tahoe to begin with.
Also I have a 3LT with Navigation system and all same option for option as Tahoe and it is about $4000 less so $4000 is rthe price mark up, that hasn't been the problem. it has been the no lease option from GM and no rebates, but lease is more important. Almost every SUV we've sold the last month have been leased and why not who wants to buy and watch there value drop like a rock, let GM garentee the value, they have 3year residuales on Tahoe's in the 67% range and there dropping 60% the first year. I could have leased a couple Hybrids to a company in Jackson,Wy. but they went with Escalades the lease payment was $300 less, a month what would you do.

And also not to mention that the Enclave and Acadia have similar room inside, and have way nice interiors. Probably drive nicer as well.

Re: Chrysler lowballs price of its SUV hybrids, starting at $45,340
I noticed that the Tahoe/Yukon hybrid uses a 6.0 liter engine with the Atkinson combustion cycle. (In the Atkinson cycle, the intake valve stays open through the first portion of the compression stroke to let some of the air go back into the intake, so that the air is compressed at a lesser ratio than it expands. It's more fuel efficient, but it reduces low end torque. The Yukon/Tahoe hybrid can use it anyway because reduced torque for a 6.0 liter engine is still plenty and the electric motors help.)
I didn't see anything in the news article to indicate the Aspen and Durango hybrids are getting Atkinson. I'm guessing that means worse mileage than their GM counterparts but more power. |
