Charger "Go ManGo!" & "Top Banana" Coming!

Source: Dodge Press Release 04/06/05

You can't make this up...

---------------------------------------------------------------
Production of the 2006 Dodge Charger SE, SXT and R/T begins this month at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, with vehicles available in North American markets later this spring. The 2006 Dodge Charger joins the award-winning Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300 vehicles built there.

Limited production of the 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T model in modern Go ManGo! paint will begin early this summer with vehicles available in North American markets soon after. The Dodge Charger Daytona R/T model with Top Banana paint will be available after the limited production of Go ManGo! vehicles is complete.

Re: Charger "Go ManGo!" & "Top Banana" Coming!

All of a sudden the crazy colors available on the Pontiac Vibe seem tame...

Go ManGo?

I think I can figure out "Top Banana", but what color comes to mind when you think "Go ManGo!"?

The grill on that car just isn't right.... The magnum grill flows better, this one has some strange porportions....

I would get rid of the wings, first. It just looks weird on a sedan. Other than that, I kind of like the looks...

Great looking cars. And GM is competing against this with what again?

The grille all together is ugly and they stick it on everything they make. People want to complain about Buick's grille, but Dodge's is every bit as ugly.

I think this is a winner, and it's sad that GM has no "Retro" styled competitors...I don't think the HHR counts, either.

I love it... grille and all. But of course, I have no issues with Buick's grille, either...

Re: Charger "Go ManGo!" & "Top Banana" Coming!

This thing is just wrong, wrong in every way. . .Too much eyebrow in the headlights, too gaping of a grill (painted silver may work, but blacked out is UG-LY), looks too long (not sure of the true dimensions, but looks too long), and for muscle car sake, put some fatter tires in the back!!! That is my biggest complaint about the 300C and the Magnum, the puny tires in the back (other than that, they are cool), but this Charger is all wrong. . . about the only thing I like is the fact that DC put a decent motor in it. . . But of course everything gets a "Hemi" (I know it's a 6.1L, but still, it's like DC has a "Hemi shaker" instead of a salt shaker). Half the people that get the "Hemi" have no idea what the Hemi means, they just know it's a legendary Chrysler Corp motor, great marketing if you think of it. Anyhow, anyone that thinks this looks good and gives the GTO chit need to have their prescription changed. . .

Re: Charger "Go ManGo!" & "Top Banana" Coming!

Maybe those of you who can't figure out what color "Go ManGo" is aren't catching the Mango in there. Mangos are typically orange/red.

As far as the Charger is concerned, this car is going to be great! I think it looks really badass. I really love the rear fenders on it. And as if the standard Charger doesn't look badass enough, the SRT-8 looks even better!

I really do like the cross-hairs grill that Dodge uses. For one, it makes any Dodge instantly recognizable as just that, a Dodge. Not all manufacturers have consistency like that (even with just one notable design element) throughout their lineup. I think that a car should be recognizable as part of a brand just by its styling (ie. take off the badge and anyone can recognize what it is). Brands that have that now include Pontiac, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus (well, at least the new IS and GS with L-Finese), Aston Martin, Jaguar, Hummer, Volvo, Cadillac, etc. It's a very bold styling feature, but one that I think does their cars very good.
