[Canada] Chrysler lowers prices for PT Cruiser

Yesterday on the front page of my newspaper I heard about this story:

Windsor, Ontario - To celebrate the Chrysler PT Cruiser's fifth anniversary, the vehicle will be available for a special price of $15,998 until the end of March, 2005, announced the company.

The price reflects a factory-to-dealer allowance and a Dealer Advertising Association contribution. The announcement was first made at the 2005 Salon de l'auto in Montreal.

"Chrysler PT Cruiser is an incredible value that offers the great fuel economy you expect from a small car without sacrificing the style or functionality that make it unique." said Ron Smith, Vice President, Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Canada.

Features on the entry-level Chrysler PT Cruiser include a 2.4-litre DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine rated at 150 horsepower, a five-speed manual transmission, power windows, tilt steering, AM/FM radio with CD player and six speakers, 15-inch wheels, child LATCH system and rear door child protection locks, and removable, tumbling and folding rear seats.

The 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser is built in Toluca, Mexico.

The HHR will be selling at huge discounts also no matter what Bob Lutz says. I just don't see a big market anymore for retro wagons like this. I hope Bob proves me wrong but..

Anything retro won't continue to sell like its initial debut, people just get tired of looking at them, see the mustang for future examples, people are allready tired of it because there are so popular, let alone its retro wanna be styling.
