Even though everyone is probably happy about this, I'm actually a little dissapointed. I was thinking it would be interesting to see how they would compete. Well, sucks for all those dealers who invested in Chery. Do they get refunds?

Why would any car dealer do business with Bricklin? This guy must be the world greatest salesman. I was really looking forward to those 18K 3 series fighters. LOL

So now Visonary is going to sell their own line of cars. That's interesting. Any more information on their planned line of vehicles?

I think Chery will do better with Diamler Chrysler's help than they would with Bricklin.

Well, this is interesting. I hope he doesn't go to SAIC because of GM, though. I wonder if he'll try and go after Geely or Geely's Shanghai Maple Automotive subsidiary AND pull of a Lopez (remember the guy who defected to VW from GM with alleged "plans" of a project to build cars in Lopez's home country) at the same time. THAT would be funny!

I bet Chery would prefer going with Chrysler since is easy to sell with a established brand than sometimes a new brand nowbody knows

No big surprise, only a total moron would buy one of these. The car market is way to competitive for Chery to make it.

So does this mean Bricklin is going to hire engineers? Does this mean that these cars are American but built in China?

I agree. People are going to be really apprehensive buying a Chinese vehicle from a Chinese company. BUT, if you sell it under an "American" name, some people will obviously like it more, because you know that Chrysler is backing it for repairs and such.

No worry, in a couple of years there will be plenty of Chinese cars, both under Chinese brands and American.

Yup, I remember that: Juan Ignacio Lopez who took all kinds of stuff and defected to VW in the 90s. Go figure.

Is Bricklin a Canadian? I know he had his tie-up with the NB government with the Birklin... but was he born in the US or Canada?

Re: Bricklin abandons plans to establish Chery in the U.S.

Once again, Bricklin makes off with a bag of money. This wasn't his first scheme since the Yugo.
The Yugo was a brilliant scam may I add. The Yugo engine casting were all defective and he knew it!! He did a good job of making the Yugo appear as a real car, unfortunately it would only last for about 35,000 miles before the defective block would leak and self-destruct. The Yugo plant now lays in ruins from a civil war.
