My daughter has 2010 X5 Diesel which I have driven on occasion. To say I was totally non- impressed would be an understatement. My sister has a new 2013 SRX which replaced a 2010. I drove her old one and found it to be a very pleasing vehicle that only needed more power. I guess the new takes care of that problem.

Oh man that thing makes the Silverado/Sierra refresh look ground breaking.![]()
BMW's so overrated. Interiors are absolute garbage.

This is the exact reason I love the new Vette design. It takes a chance to be different and fresh. BMW, Porsche, Mercedes (to a lesser extent) take no chances with their design. While there are some aspects of the Vette that I dislike, the overall package blows me away.
BMWs have been becoming uglier and more boring by the year yet they continue to demand a premium. Complacency is dangerous. People will only buy a BMW because its a BMW for so long before they get tired of this crap. Just ask GM.

This looks to be a revision or MCE of the existing E70 X5 which debuted in 2007 but BMW may refer to it as an all new car. As a BMW owner/ enthusiast I applaud their success but I also wonder at what cost does BMW pursue sales volume.
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!
They did NOT redefine the soft-roader SUV. They didn't even redefine the X5.

and that might be true here to both GM and BMW did not even bother with NEW LOOKS
I looked @ a X3 once while driving my mothers X trail and the X trail is bigger AND more comfy then the X3 and the missing driving improvements day to day are not missed (I bought a G8 and have not looked back)
Somebody fudged, they have a 1 instead of a 0. This must be a very old find, since the title should read "Breaking: 2004 BMW X5 leaked"
Present Rides: 1996 Buick Riviera, 166,000 Miles
Past Rides: 1995 Pontiac Trans Sport 210,000 Miles
Buick, The American Riviera.

I think it is exactly where the X5 needs to be in the looks department.
It's not the right time for some radical change yet.
The entire line of BMW's are now at a pretty cohesive point with the headlights, taillights and kidney grilles.
I absolutely LOVE my 2004 X5 4.4L...
Even though it may be a little more expensive for certain mechanical fixes, the little maintenance things are super simple compared to all of the GM vehicles I have ever owned. Changing light bulbs through out the interior and exterior of the X5 do not require tools and a 2 year degree from a tech school, unlike my G6 Coupe that pretty much requires you to disassemble the front bumper to take the whole headlight out to get to the bulbs.
What is happening to the GM that grew up with for these many decades? If I could I would institute a hostile take over and kick the entire board and executives out and fill the positions with creative minds under the age of 35.
It looks very nice. Nothing new, but when you've got something good going maybe that's sufficient.
Well the diesel X5 must be real poop because the V8 that I drove is in an entirely different league than the 2010 or 2013 SRX. Even the 2013 Lexus RX, which the SRX is basically trying to be, doesn't hold a candle to the X5. Again, the diesel version much be pretty bad. I've never driven it. I would imagine the turbo V6 is probably also a nice experience.
Not a bad point at all - but I was expecting a little more. I say it when I expect more from other brands so I'm not going to let BMW off the hook. :p
