The new Bentley sedan is here. There is too much Mercedes/Maybach. Thats bad. The designers could learn a thing or two from our CTSTSRXLR. .

Here's your link

Personally, I'm less than thrilled with this car. It just doesn't appear to have the ooomph of the Continental coupe.

Yes, the Continental GT is quite the coupe. I fancy it, certainly in a way that I don't fancy the sedan.

I think you're missing it. The camoflauge on this car is pretty good. The car doesn't look as much like a Mercedes-Benz or Maybach as you think.

Ummm... Bentley is owned and operated by VW, right? Continental GT coupe is based on the Phaeton and A8/L.

So... what VW has been criticized of doing is having one platform for too many cars. And they're at it again.

Furthermore, the Bentley is supposed to compete with the S-Class. Well what the heck is the A8/L supposed to do???
More inconceivable strategic misfires from VW!!

But the Bentley ST will be positioned against (and probably above) high-end versions of the S-Class....well above the A8L's price.

Bentley has been using ONE platform for four different bodies (swb sedan, lwb sedan, swb coupe, lwb coupe, convertible) over the past 25 years. I don't think the highly-competent D3 platform is being stretched too thin here.

I dont think the final car will have too much resemblence to mb/maybach. If you look closely at the rear, you will see that its taped like a mercedes light, but the rear light is actually shaped like the continental gt. I think they wanted the car to "appear" like an MB from people taking a quick glance.

Continental GT rear

the front and rear look really S-classy (not really all that classy... but you know what I mean) but the sides look like what a GT sedan should look like.... so lets wait till it's de-camoed before we make any more judgements. I think it'll turn out fine, main thing is if it has the right grill and rear lights. And you know it's gonna be a hot performer!!

Sorry, but HOW could you NOT see the S-Class in that Bentley?? They've basically warmed over the main character lines of the Mercedes
