The net job impact of Toyota in North America is negative.
What part of that do you not comprehend?

The last time we looked, over 50% of Toyota's production, full vehicles and parts content together, was imported.

Toyota causes a net loss of North American jobs.
Period.
End of story.
Cry, whine, obfuscate, call in PhishPhood and lie like a bandit all you want.
It's not going to change the truth.

No surprisingly they didn't. They didn't make a dime from it. Neither did GM nor Ford nor any vehicle maker? DO U KNOW Y?

What the vehicle makers did get is empty inventories all over the country that they had to fill with new production for 4th Qtr. Did you notice the bump in production announced by every vehicle maker? In fact all the money from the C4C program went to the dealers, their employees and their vendors....and the junkyards that collected the dead clunkers.

So much for all the hopes of so many that Toyota was sliding into an bottomless abyss of loss after loss after loss. Chins up... brighter days are ahead.

I would have guessed the zip ties alone would have swung the balance sheet to negative.

To echo your enthusiasm, we can only hope for more Toyota losses.
A few more immolated families should do the trick quite nicely.
Oh what a feeling to be burned alive in a Toyota!

Re: Back in Black: Toyota Posts Surprise Third-Quarter Profit

GM better get its act together. Toyota, Ford and now VW are kicking some serious booty. I think with the loss of semi-loyal customers GM once had before the bailouts, GM will be lucky to make top five in the next few years.

If the Volt isn't a complete success, GM will be in deep doo doo.

Here's the lineup going forward:

Toyota
VW
Ford
GM
Nissan

Sorry fanboys, but that's just the way the cards have been dealt. GM has lots and lots of ground to cover. Perception is just one....

Hasn't GM been gaining market share for the last 3 months?

What about the other 50% (by your numbers) . You can spin the numbers any way you want to make yourself feel better

We should all be getting thank-you notes from the CEOs and stock holders of Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Subaru.

No, no one said that. I know you all at Toyota Nation want us here at GMI to be the FoxNews of car fans, but we're not.

Toyota: solid, appalling evidence that you can fool most of the people most of the time.

Of course. Not a single Toyota dealer called in for more slop after their lots were cleared. Not a single Toyota carrier was sent back across the Pacific after finally being relieved of moldy cargo.
