They seemed to have turned that car sales slump around. Good job.

The new Civic will dominate their segment I think. A new economical stylish Civic is just in time for $3.00 a gallon gasoline.

Looks like Honda, Nissan, and Toyota all had record Aug sales. That ain't good for the big American three. Toyota sold nearly as many vehicles as Ford Motor Co. 288,xxx to 205,xxx) And YTD Ford is up 0.9% while Toyota is up 11.4%

So Ridgeline sales continue to improve month to month....

Hybrid increases are a no-brainer.

I'm sure both Toyota and Honda are saying, "Thanks GM", for all the 'Employee Discount' stuff.

Re: American Honda Reports Record Breaking August Sales, New All-Time Records Set

Ridgelines aren't all that bad...

Honda's car slump has turned around ridiculously quickly. I know they have the year end clearance every year, but that is really more of a significant increase than I would have thought it would've been. One of my friends is looking to get a Civic EX Special Edition Coupe. I'd rather have a Cobalt Coupe, but over both I would take the '06 Civic Coupe anyday.

Gas prices are really making people choose more carefully about their vehicle purchases.

They are just buying what they want or need. How does that make them stupid? I need a NAV in my next utility wagon/truck. Do you have any idea how many trucks that negates, esp. since I'm not in the market for a large one? Heres a hint, no domestic truck currently sells one with a NAV, though Chrysler will soon. The Ridgeline has it, and other features I'd want, not found on other trucks. We don't all have the same needs, y'know?

GM needs to address the lack of content issue. I can't stress this enough. Judging by the GM owning family I saw climbing over the Ridgeline a week ago I'm not alone in this belief.

I agree. 4 speed transmisions and cheap plastic interiors is not going to increase sales. GM could learn a great deal from Honda.

If you would, humor me, and explain to me why you need NAV in your next vehicle? I am not trying to pick a fight...just wondering why anyone needs NAV. I have been driving, quite successfully, for years now w/o a navigation system. Well, wait, I guess you can count maps, directions from friends, and MapQuest and similiar web sites printed out maps. Yah, navigation would be a cool gimmic for me, but so would ejection seats. Actually, I honestly think I would get more use out of the latter.

I have just heard so many people say the NEED nav, and I am curious why this need has suddenly come upon us. I need food, and I need water, but I can't ever see myself saying, I need NAV.

Re: American Honda Reports Record Breaking August Sales, New All-Time Records Set

Though, I don't have a Nav, there have been more than a few times in LA and San Diego my severe want for one almost crossed over into a need. At those crises moments I probably would have forked over 2 grand for one at the time. It really does beat fumbling with maps in the dark.
