Re: All New Volvo S80

Its nice, the front actually shows a little, just a little agression. Interior has some really nice lines/curves to it but its also a little bland. I'm sure the women will continue to love it.

They are a little behind on the sound department though...
" Premium Sound – with 5x130 W digital amplifier, Dolby® Pro Logic II Surround and up to twelve loudspeakers."

Why not 5.1 Dolby Digital?

Re: All New Volvo S80

Pretty sweet if you ask me. I hope the center stack has an aluminum trim option.
Center vents look tiny.

Overall a very nice lookign car!!

I LOVE that interior design. It's so understated and clean. It's like it doesn't even need to try to look expensive with the usual wood and chrome and bling because its design and shapes say it all.

Really nice. Will it be more of an actual 5-Series competitor this time or still be an In-Between?

That is not a bad looking car at all. I don't care much for Volvo's but this is a nice car.

The interior looks awesome...but I'll say it again, I don't think the exterior goes far enough. Just looks too similar to what they're replacing

That's exactly where it's at! Get your Volvo until this bling-bling CLS guy does his business on them!

PS. This new S80 dash is even better than past Volvo dashes. I didn't think they could get any better, but they did! Just leave Volvo alone, Ford!

Re: All New Volvo S80

nice lookin car... with the new 4.4L V-8 availible with 315hp and over 300lb-ft of trq, plenty of cool features, Volvo saftey, and AWD, it should be a good entry into the ~40k luxury class. it's a bit mild for some, but then if i were running Ford's PAG, i'd keep Volvo relatively subdued styling wise and let Jaguar be the more expressive one. so this is a great flagship for Volvo IMO.

I love everything except the front. Not atractive at all in the front.

I wonder if SAAB decided to use an eight how many "purist" would cry that's not what SAAB is supposed to be about as if they can truly compete with the Audis, BMWs, and Volvos when the top-of-the-line SAAB has a 4.

Well, it is a 5.1 audio system...with 650 watts from Dynaudio. I'd hardly call that "behind"...

Actually, my understanding is that Ford is as hands on with Volvo as with any other foreign holding. So largely, what you see in this new S80 is as much a product of Ford influence as a lack of it. If only Ford could get Jaguar this "right".

Saab has been so defiled by this point that I don't think a V-8 would even create a peep from enthusiasts (whats left anyway) so long as it wasn't simply the expected off the shelf LS or Northstar.
