Mazda is on a mission to stylistically update its lineup from the grin faced models of yore to a more contemporary style first seen on the new CX-5 and then later on the new Mazda6. As expected, the upcoming 2014 Mazda3 will also receive the same treatment. The car’s basic design has been leaked in patent photos directly from Mazda.

Well, it didn't take them long to figure out that their Halloween Faces needed a bit of amending, did it?
Sheesh, are they going for the Coke Can award or something?

Anyway, hopefully that grimace has been cured for ought and fourteen, and Mazda can live happily ever after.

look up "skyactiv" and get back to me starting last year the Mazda 3 gets 28/39 mpg (one variant on the sedan breaks 40 mpg highway) ... not sure what your old UTE used to get (doubt in v8 trim it would even come close) for highway mileage.

Mazda is serious about keeping the fun factor and beefing up mileage and efficiency.

It drinks like a sailer on shore leave if you drive it with any form of performance and is a dead set slug in Skyactiv form

Your better off with pretty much any other small car

Actually the Skyactiv Mazda 3 is a really nice drive and fuel efficient. People buy them because they are good looking (not boring) and good value for money.

That image makes it look like they are copying the BMW 3 series, were it not for the 3rd image on that website. Looks very close to those dummy pics from a month or so ago.

I loved our 1995 and 2000 Mazda Protege's. Both were awesome cars with over 140k miles on them with very little additional maintenance required. Pretty bulletproof IMO! Got nothing but good things to say about Mazdas. I dislike the current 3 styling, and think this facelift is a smart move on their part.
    Get used to more.

As a owner of a 2012 Mazda 3, your assertions of them not being fuel efficient are totally wrong.
Also, I currently own a 2008 GMC Sierra and have only purchased GMs all my life (I'm 46), but went to buy a new Cruse as a daily driver, drove good, seen the Mazda store next door, drove a Mazda 3 and the driving dynamics are head and shoulders above the Cruze, also the fuel mileage is awesome, as for the looks? The Cruze looks better from the front of the hood foreword, the Mazda 3 looks better from the middle of the hood rearward.

Better but not enough to make it good looking.
