Re: 2011 Toyota RWD Coupe rendering

Not bad. I got to admit, it does have a pretty aggressive looking front end. I agree on the design cues from Lexus. Looks like a Lexus badged as a Toyota.

I'm sure to see it at some autocrosses. Looks like the most decent Celica since the mid-90's.

That is ugly. Looks like a chop of an IS, a Mazda, and a Nissan

Re: 2011 Toyota RWD Coupe rendering

I hope it doesn't actually look like that!

The original AE86 was really clean looking

Rumor has it Nissan will be coming out with a new 240SX to compete with this.

All that said, its nice to see new cheap, lightweight RWD coupes coming out.

Woah. Looks like an Altima mated with an IS. They've got to hire folks with some sense of aesthetics at Toyota.

Re: 2011 Toyota RWD Coupe rendering

looks a whole lot like an IS. tone it down a little and it might actually be an awesome little ride. i liked the RWD Corollas. GM should have already been working on something like this. a small RWD coupe (and maybe even sedan) would probably sell quite well. too bad for GM that Toyota's going to find out first.

Re: 2011 Toyota RWD Coupe rendering

It's not THAT bad and its obviously over the top for the final design, especially for Yota. Toned down it has potential to be a nice looking car. There was a drawing in I think Road and Track that had a nicer design, I guess that may of been the Subaru. That said hopefully GM is seeing this and the rumors/ reports of a RWD cheaper than the Z from Nissan and will counter with something like the Torana.

Re: 2011 Toyota RWD Coupe rendering

this car has been on ae86/toyota forums for a long time- the trick is that toyota is trying to capture a market that has no money to spend on newer cars. for them to like it, it needs to be modifyable as well.

also, its ugly

Thank goodness Toyota still doesn't produce good looking cars. Otherwise, they'd be completely unstoppable (they might be anyway).

Re: 2011 Toyota RWD Coupe rendering

I think their SUVs have even worse styling. I might be alone in thinking so, but I don't think they have a single attractive SUV in the fleet. The Rav 4 is OKAY at best.

Would the Solstice Coupe not qualify? Or is it technically a roadster because of only two seats?

I was going to say the same thing. Very Lexus IS-ish.

It doesn't look too bad....but it definitley looks better suited to be a Lexus.
