I think the main difference is the windshield glass, the concept glass is stunning. Perhaps it was too pricey to mass produce. Either way, it was well rendered, and will be a player in the market.

I highly doubt it -- not many Audi buyers are even going to step in to a Lincoln dealership regardless of how good the MKT is. For buyers who want a Q7 but refuse to buy foreign, maybe...

yeah no- id lease a naivg8r or escalade first, instead of dropping 55 grand on this. But it is not bad looking, they could have done without their 2 new sedans and just put this out with the Navi, town car refresh and the beautiful old MArk 10 and continental concepts from the 90's- that'd be a respectable lineup. The Q7 is a pork pig that is selling like 200 units per year.

Buick is often cross-shopped with Lincoln. They're similar in image (cushy, American-style luxury) and both don't have Cadillac's in-your-face style. I have a relative that would jump between the two regularly. He's had Roadmasters, Marks, Electras, etc. His current car is an extended wheelbase Town Car (I wish I could afford that car). So yes MKT customers will look at an Enclave as well and decide if the Lincoln is worth the premium over the Buick. In the 90s case of Roadmaster vs Town Car it wasn't. In late 70s in the case of Mark vs Electra it was.

It worked well for the Chrysler 300, so why not Lincoln too? If anything people will drive something that looks different just to be different.

You can't get an Escalade for $55k. They start at $60k and skyrocket to $70k quickly when you add options. I'd never get an Escalade while the Denali exists anyways.

I agree. I think this will be a tough pill to swallow for most people. I think everyone was excited when Ford announced a $700 dollar price tag but I think it's now pretty clear that I was right when I said that's what it cost Ford, which has very little to do with what they charge us for it.

Also do we have a definitive answer if you can burn cheap gas? With the very low additional power that the twin turbo's added I think Ford might have pulled a Hyundai and made the turbo safe to run on cheap gas.

$45-55K is not a bad range considering the competition, however I really doubt that Lincoln has the image back that it can demand and get those type of prices. The MKX starts at $37,845 and the Enclave CXL AWD starts at $40,115 so is the MKT with a weaker engine really worth $6.5k more but when optioned out the the Enclave tops out at $52,170. So I don't have a problem with the MKT's pricing, but now I am wishing that GM would introduce a 3.0 turbo to compete with the EcoBoost offerings from Ford.

The idea, has always been, to have Ecoboost require regular. Ford seems to be very much set against requiring premium in anything.

Will it get a power boost with premium.............. probably.

Also, for all those saying that this will not sell................... well................ it doesn't have to sell many. I have heard estimates ranging from 10K-25K per year. Ford is not expecting this car to be a big seller.

If it does more than that, that is just a bonus.
