The front end reminds me of a scrunched up paper ball.

I think the rear is its strong point.

Looks like they are having some ambient lighting much like the CTS. I have a problem with the ergonomics though. The dual zone climate control is all together by the driver. The passenger has to reach across the console to reach their control. And then audio controls are just placed side by side with the hvac controls. Seems like you have to reach for things. Of course you can't tell everything from pictures, but thats how it looks. And basically every application of dual zone, the controls are seperated to either side of the stack to make it convenient for driver and passenger. Not to mention the HVAC and audio controls just look like two identical squares placed into the stack. Same size box and all.

    Re: 2009 Jaguar XF Revealed

I love the modern translation of the Jaguar hood creases.
Most cars look like crap in silver/grey. Count this one as one of them.

It's a very modern look, with retro-cues from Jaguars of the past -- exactly what should have occurred 5 years ago, when Jaguar had the chance to do it. Retro doesn't work. Modern design with retro cues does work.

The interior is almost teutonic. Odd how they are taking a page from the Phaeton with the vent covers.

    No wood on the wheel?

HVAC controls look like they were dropped in from a Lincoln. I hope it isn't.

I'm very impressed with the level of attention to detail here. Look at how the woodgrain flows from panel to panel to panel. You won't see that on any Cadillac... in any price range.

It's a sophisticated, modern look. I could be happy in one of these 3 years from now.... In R form, of course.

I know the leaper may no longer be legal in Europe, but I hope it remains a possibility in the US!!!

Holy smokes!!! look at these numbers!!! Faster than the 550i!!!!
Jaguar says the regular V8 version will sprint to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, while the supercharged model — with the same engine as the current XKR — takes just 5.1 seconds.
For the U.S., the XF is available with 18, 19 or 20-inch wheels; the Supercharged being the only car in its class to have 20-inch wheels as standard.
It would have been nice if the XF came with a V6 in the base model, but I see it as a bit symbolic. The price to entry is the V8. If you can't handle it, then tough... you don't belong in a Jaguar. And I think that's the right attitude for Jaguar to have again. The price to own a Jaguar will always be a bit higher than a run of the mill BMW or Mercedes because it's a Jaguar.

I think there's a lot of potential here with the XF.
    Good call Jaguar!!!

from that shot it looks like an Altima or any other mainstream midsizer. And the headlights look terribly cheap. Someone at Jag should get fired over this.

    I wanted this =(

Nice. The second post-Lyons Jaguar. Not as dramatic as the concept but that is to be expected. Between the 5 series, E class, STS and GS this is the one I would buy. If I had the money.

Right now... it's between the 550i and the XF Supercharged.
I'll make the finances work somehow.

I would assume a starting price of $50-55,000 for the base XF... a starting price of $58-62,000 for the premium XF... and $65-68,000 for the XF Supercharged.

And then probably $75-85,000 for the XF-R.

I'm not impressed with the exterior design. But the optional B&W speakers are enough to draw my attention.

My first thought was that looks like a Buick from the front end. I don't see much Jaguar there at all. Sorry.

I really find this car attractive, I really do! Nice new design language for the marque.
