Most of those who are buying trucks as status symbols, don't buy trucks anymore.
Trucks will continue to get more features, because even people who use trucks as trucks, like to be comfortable while doing so. |

I'm not saying the F-150 is bad at things like towing, cargo hauling etc It's just if you compare the new F-150 to trucks like the Chevy Silverado and the new dodge ram for example the boxy styling and the bigger is better theme can be a turnoff to some customers. However looks are usually not a priority to truck buyers that actually use their trucks for work (durability and workability are). My dad is one of those buyers. He bought his GMC Sierra back in 1993 and even though it's starting to show it's age it still runs and gets the job done.
