'07 Lincoln Aviator

There was a pic of a early mule in the Det News last week:

i think it's the next gen mazda mpv instead of the aviator. looks to much like the mazda. or unless it's the same car with different body shell(like that would ever happen)

Re: '07 Lincoln Aviator

I also think that looks like a minivan by the way the door handles are. The grille looks like a Cadillac but it has the rims of the current aviator[b]

Re: '07 Lincoln Aviator

I think they are using the current Mazda MPV as camouflage. I saw the Aviator concept in person today, and that looks nothing like it.

Re: '07 Lincoln Aviator

I see nothing wrong with the Avatior out right now.

I know the current rendition of the Avaitor hasn't sold very well, but why in the hell would they replace it with something that looks worse?

Re: '07 Lincoln Aviator

Here's 2 takes on this...

-Either this is a mule of the next-generation MPV testing on a new platform (which would explain why the ground clearance is pretty high)

-Or this is the next-generation Aviator testing a new platform disguised as the current-generation MPV

Re: '07 Lincoln Aviator

Looks pretty cool. Looks kinda like the small BMW or Mercedes SUV. The one thing hurting Lincoln and Ford, in general right now, is that they are offering products which may be as good or maybe just a little better than the competition, but the brand thing is hurting them. Driving an Acura, Lexus or Mercedes is just "more sexy" than driving a Ford or Lincoln.

GM on the other hand is giving consumers a "reason" to purchase their products, I believe that is namely being done via "style". The SSR is a bold statement. The Solstice is also bold. GM is trying to produce products that people will feel good about owning, not just owning a domestic product. GM lately has been "putting the ball in the oher guys court".

Toned down, yet kick-@ss styling will get consumers into General Motors products. I frankly am excited about what I 've seen of late from these GMI pages. Hopefully soon the rest of America will begin to look at that GM product next to them in traffic, and think, "...hmmm...boy they have come along way. When did this happen?".

This is clearly not the body from the new Aviator. The Aviator is a crossover, and this vehicle (which has a Mazda-like grill) has minivan doors).

Sadly it hasn't worked for the SSR so far. We'll see what happens w/ the '05 upgrades.

This is not the Aviator. If you look at the emblem its more like a Mazda emblem shape.
