Much too hard, the US seems to think it looks too much like a G8.

They must think the G8 looks like a Audi A6, because this Statesman/Caprice/Grange/Veritas/Park Ave looks much more like an A6 than a Commodore/G8 to my eyes.

On the road the VE & WM do not look alike.

The problem area is the front end, I believe. The headlamp assermbly looks the same. That said, it suits both bodies perfectly, at least the VE. And the WM does look a lot like Audi from the side.

But if it didnt get a Pontiac nose job for the US, the fronts wouldnt really look the same. If they slapped the G8 nose on it, well that may be a different story.

Really the Commodore and Statesman front ends are closer to each other than a G8 and Statesman/Park Ave front. We don't seem to have any problem identifing a Statey from 100 paces. Mind you we probably don't care that it looks like a Holden though.

I actually believe the VE looks better with the Pontiac front end. That said, I believe the Park Avenue could get some more "Buick" in the nose. I.e. something like the last American Park Avenue (million dollar smile):

I had thought it would be tempting for Holden to wack the G8 nose onto the local Sv6, SS & SS V for VF. I do think it is an attractive nose for a sporty derivative, maybe not the bonnet though...

Park Ave just needs a bit more chrome on the grill to up the $ value.

Re: New Daewoo Veritas - The Park Avenue The US Can't Have!

Anyone an antenna expert?

The Park Ave and the Veritas get a little BMW style 'fin' antenna at the rear of the roof. Is there anything special about that style antenna, XM or similar? Or are they just a direct replacement for the usual Holden style antennas?

The Commodore has a bee stinger style antenna, and the Stateys at Suttons have a peculiar looking little rubber 'cocktail frankfurt' antenna.

I'd be looking to swap my 'bee sting' or 'chipolata' to a 'fin' if they they are a straight swap.
