New Daewoo L4X Unveiled! (Holden Caprice)

Quote:
GM Daewoo unveiled the L4X premium sedan which will go on sale in South Korea in August of 2008, in this year's Seoul International Motor Show.

The L4X is powered by a 3.6L Alloytec V6 that produces 258hp(6500rpm) with maximum torque of 34.7kg.m(3200rpm). The L4X boasts a top speed of 227km/h. The L4X is equipped with premium amenities such as rear window curtains, roller blinds, rear-view camera, side-curtain airbags, and a rear seat massager.

Michael Grimaldi, head of GM Daewoo Korea stated," The L4X is a luxury sedan that exceeds the premium benchmark. It drives on a RWD platform which offers maximum comfort and ride quality, and it offers a very large interior space which provides the best experience in driving and its feel".

GM Daewoo also unveiled South Korea's first RWD-based traditional roadster (2-passenger open sports car). The G2X, based on the Saturn Sky and the Opel GT, will go on sale in South Korea in the fourth quarter of 2007.

The L4X will go head-to-head with Hyundai's BH RWD premium sedan and Ssangyong's W200 luxury sedan. It is expected to be a fierce competition and it looks like the L4X won't suffer for its superiority.

This is based on the Holden WM Caprice/Statesman platform. I guess it's the Zeta platform?

I don't like it as a Daewoo, but give me a Holden Caprice any day.

Pontiac, Daewoo, Holden, Chinese Buick, Opel, Vauxhall, Mideast Chevrolet, all the same, fellas!

The alpha platform don't come out until 2009 at the earliest.

Re: New Daewoo L4X Unveiled! (Holden Caprice)

Okay, all the credit goes to Holden, of course , but that front end looks awesome! What a stately grille! And I love the return of the hood ornamenent (okay not the return... a few cars still have them...)! That car looks very classy. The rear end really ties in with the Tosca. For anyone who thought GMDAT was just a parasite that was going to take over and infiltrate GM brands, think again. It works both ways, with the G2X and now the L4X.

It looks a bit like a lincoln, but if Lincoln had vehicles like this Ford would be in alot better position.

Re: New Daewoo L4X Unveiled! (Holden Caprice)

If we could get that here (as a Buick?) with the new 2.9 V6 diesel I'd love to have one. I like this and the Holden Caprice, they are very nice looking.

Re: New Daewoo L4X Unveiled! (Holden Caprice)

Buick will eventually get a LWB Zeta that will be manufactured in N.A. Please, let's leave the G8 as the only imported Holden.
