Re: New Daewoo Gentra X Launched In Korea

Yep, yep I like where we are going now.

Now if they slightly adjust the headlights and make them narrower, pull the grill in tight, extend the lower air intakes and paint the roof black I think they will be on a winner.

Below I have done a very rough chop of what I'm picturing in my head.

Yeah. I would buy that.

Re: New Daewoo Gentra X Launched In Korea

From straight on I agree it looks dumb, like a rabbit. But from the side, etc. its not that bad for what it is. The problem I have is only 26 city and 34 hghway MPG. You would expect better. I also hope they fixed the sloppy shifter, tightened it up, otherwise the old aveo was kind of fun to drive. This new one should be too.

American car makers seem to think we all want ridiculously large front ends so we can scare the people in front of us. The cars end up looking foolish.

If you all stop buying scions and voting for the dumbest looking of the GM micro cars in that contest they had, this wouldn't be happening!

Also stop with the Two Fast Too Furious crap, the bodykits you never paint and leave primered for years, the ridiculous wings that even NASCAR doesn't use, the bee can mufflers on 1.1 liter S-boxes, the hondas that ARE NOT fast despite VTEC or whatever other letters you put on the front, thinking your in GranTurismo 8 every time you drive, TV screens in the headrests, pulling into a 7-11 with your rap blasting (nobody, but you thinks its cool or wants to hear that crap!), Fear this!, rims that cost more than your car, etc., etc., etc.

Sorry I went off a bit there. : P

Asian market Aveo 5...
These are photos from the local Chevy club, first time I saw a black(?) 2009 Aveo hatchback...

Looks good in red...

Looks a bit odd with the front plates...

This Pontiac may be a bit bland, but certainly more handsome than the Chevy version IMHO.
That Pontiac fron reminds me of the old Daewoo 1.5 / Cielo (Pontiac LeMans)
