GM Daewoo's vehicle sales rise 23.2% in March

If only this were the American sales rising by such a percentage. Good news, nonetheless.

Re: GM Daewoo's vehicle sales rise 23.2% in March

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't think many GMDAT cars are sold in Europe as Daewoos - most of the European markets have converted to Chevrolet, which is just more of the same but with a bit of irrelevant heritage.

I asked this a while ago but it seems a little relevant here so I'll ask it again - anyone any ideas on when/if the Epica is coming to the UK?

More cash into GM's pocket. Hopefully, they'll make good use of it.

Nice thread. The new mini car concepts previewing New York make it even more interesting. IMHO, it would be nice if GM could donate some Opel technology to make the Aveos 5-star safe and extremely fuel-efficient. just like the Corsa.

I think in Europe they are Chevy Kalos (used to be daewoo kalos) but the next generation will share the same name, probably Aveo.

Thats a pretty good question. I bet a lot of them went to Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, but I am not sure. I guess it doesn't matter too much for GMDAT, as long as they are continuing on this success of selling many Daewoo cars.

I drove a new Aveo and I was major impressed, I had no idea they were that nice. If gas prices stay as high as they are now, their sales will really be up.

In the end, this is still good news for GM. It allows them to hold the lead over toyota.

Some of those went to the United States (as the Chevy Aveo, Suzuki Forenza, Suzuki Reno).

Oh heck I'll admit I thought it was a horrible idea! Daewoo was floundering big-time, and not only in the US. GM did a great job of turning that ship around, but it's easy to see why people didn't like the idea at all.

Daewoo exports to Australia among other places, some are badged as Holdens. Good to see Daewoo with a big increase in sales and profit. Could Daewoo speed up the GM turnaround?
