So aside from brake, wiper, and fuel-line problems, all is sound at VW! Good to know!

Volkswagen recalls 62,000 Passats in Canada, U.S.

Volkswagen of America is recalling 300,000 Passat sedans and wagons worldwide, 62,000 of which were sold in Canada and the U.S., to fix a series of problems, including one involving brakes.

The company said Friday it will begin notifying vehicle owners of the recall in January. The recall involves the 2006 and 2007 model years.

then why did you read this.....opinions are a big part of this board and I didn't see one comment here that said "Volkswagen sucks' except by cough cough. Anyway for a company that goes out of there way not to manufacture in USA or get parts from here deserves a couple of lumps. What would you call this a good thing.

Then why are the GM recall threads closed without any discussion at all??

Doesn't sound good for VW. Even though it's not a big recall, it's still a serious problem. The Volkswagon Passat has terrible quality according to JD Power Associates and I also know a few people who have a lot of problems with them.

I LOVE the new Passat (not to mention everything else VW has out right now) I would not hesitate to buy one, especially if its one of the new R36's that we will hopefully get over her in a year or so. Hey, we are getting the new R32, we might as well send over the new R36 (and dont forget to put in the 6-speed manual, no DSG for me!)
