Toyota recalls 54,000 passenger cars because of engine problems, possible fires

Subject to recall are 54,217 vehicles in two models, including the Harrier sport utility vehicle. The vehicles have a defect that can cause the engine's computer control system to operate incorrectly and possibly catch fire, Kyodo said.

As much as I understand what you're getting at, and have been known to encourage it even... show me an example of someone who ever said that Toyota doesn't recall, or that Toyota's never have problems. Many people like their Toyotas, and rightly so... I guarantee you that if the majority of people had problems with their Toyotas they wouldn't be making record profit and selling like mad. I like having Toyota's problems exposed, as there's enough light shed on domestic manufacturers problems... but to suggest that anyone thinks Toyota never has issues is exaggerating.

I think they should recall them all for being so freakin' ugly. They're so ugly they hurt my grandma's feelings, and she's thinkin' about a lawsuit.

I think he's supposing this as someone from the general public that has been brainwashed by the media as to Toyota being the greatest car manufacture that has ever been on the face of the earth.

It's safe to say that Toyota has seen their fair share of problems this year.

My how fast this thread is growing. There are a few product recalls for GM in this forum but all of them have 0 replies. I can assure you, the recalls could have been about a misprint in the owners manual and this thread would generate 200 responses.

Re: Toyota recalls 54,000 passenger cars because of engine problems, possible fires

sorry for the random post, but now that I'm thinking, Toyota is good at making ppl forget there was a recall. (What ever happened with that lady who was claiming she was sexually harrassed by a toyo big wig??) It just went away.... as the stories of recalls!

Which would be bad considering that Toyota recalls attract some of, if not the most asinine posts in GMI.

Thumbs down Re: Toyota recalls 54,000 passenger cars because of engine problems, possible fires

why is it the GM recalls are closed posts yet the foreign auto ones are open to let the savages rip the meat from their bones????

To be a professional site, all recall posts, regardless of manufacturer should be closed. There is no need to go bash every manufactuer when they have a recall for something
