Toyota recalls 206,388 Corolla Versos in Europe, elsewhere
Toyota recalls 206,388 Corolla Versos in Europe, other regions
Last Update: 6:49 AM ET Jul 25, 2006 TOKYO (MarketWatch) -- Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.TO) said Tuesday that it's recalling 206,388 units of its Corolla Verso model that it produced at a plant in Turkey due to a faulty switch that can manually control the operation of the front seat airbag. The vehicles being recalled were produced between January 2004 and May 2006 and sold in Europe, Africa and other regions. No accidents were reported due to the faulty switch, a Toyota spokeswoman said. With the faulty switch, the front seat airbag may open even as if the airbag switch is turned off. full article.... http://www.marketwatch.com/News/Stor...41C81CAAFC7%7D |

Re: Toyota recalls 206,388 Corolla Versos
im really scared now for people that drive toyotas. like genuinely worried. a few of my non immediate family members, drive toyotas. and im just wondering what else is going to go wrong that is toyota. granted not all their recalls are in america, some are. and still what about all those other people... i think maybe toyota is staregically releasing all these recalls at once, so that say next year, they can claim that they have reduced recalls by a bagillion %

Toyota is beginning to sound a little like Mitsubishi; Toyota may fall apart in the next year or two, you just never know!

It is interesting this current trend of reporting on Toyota recalls from everywhere around the world. No one ever reports GM recalls here from Europe, Australia or Asia. Why this double standard concerning Toyota? Let's stick to reporting recalls on vehicles in North America. And if we report on recalls affecting vehicles in North America, what do we find? The honest stats reported by tgferg67 in another thread, give a much more accurate picture regarding recent recalls: Quote:
