Subject:Bulletin GMP07-176 - Special Coverage Adjustment #07095 – Engine Compartment Fuse Block CoverMessage #:VSU20071581
  • DESCRIPTION:
    SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT #07095 – SEPTEMBER 28, 2007
    • On some 2003-2007 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles, the engine compartment fuse block cover retaining tabs may break when the cover is removed allowing water and road contaminates to enter the fuse block.
    • This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 7 years or 70,000 miles (110,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.
    • For vehicles covered by Vehicle Service Contracts, all eligible claims with repair orders on or after September 14, 2007, are covered by this special coverage and must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin. Claims with repair orders prior to September 14, 2007, must be submitted to the Service Contract provider.
    • Refer to Special Coverage Adjustment #07095 for further information.

    EFFECTIVE DATE:
    Initial owner mailing is scheduled to begin: 10-5-07


    GENERAL INFORMATION:
    Parts required to complete this special coverage are to be obtained from General Motors Service and Parts Operations (GMSPO).

This is a new GM we have here... If memory serves correct if that would have happened 5 years ago and the vehicle was out of warranty, GM would have told them "tough luck" but now they are voluntarily extending the warranty coverage for this part?!?!?!...WOW!!!

It's been a problem for a while, customer service was aware of the complaints. Good to see it finally covered.

We noticed a while back. I don't know when. Thankfully the 08's don't have them. I think we started the 08's at the end of July. I don't really remember after a while it all runs together.
